E 84Murmur
Thursday, Sept. 12, 7:00 PM - Dalhousie Arts CenterFollowing a DUI charge, sixty-something year-old Donna (Shan MacDonald) is scheduled to perform community service in an animal rescue shelter. Over time, she begins to relate to the abandoned animals that surround her and she forms a particular bond with a senior dog, Charlie, who she brings home to prevent from being euthanized. She begins rescuing other animals from the shelter and buying them online, until her small apartment is over-run — her unchecked compulsion for connection ultimately causing her home and life to fall into further disarray. Marking the debut feature of award-winning, Halifax-based filmmaker Heather Young, Murmur captures the quiet, contemplative story of a woman who, grappling with alcohol dependence and loneliness, struggles to find a way to ease the pain. Starring a cast of Nova Scotian non-professional actors, many of whom are playing themselves in the film, Young skillfully crafts an enduring story of aging and the human-animal connection.

SPECIAL EVENTS & RECEPTIONS
Rush Tickets
20 minutes before every screening unclaimed seats reserved for pass holders are released for sale to non pass holders. These are called rush tickets.
Rush tickets are available for all films with the exception of the Opening Night Gala Film. Rush ticket lines are formed at the Festival Box Office, approximately one hour prior to showtime. Tickets are subject to availability and there is no guaranteed number of rush tickets available.
“Will Call” - Pick up your online pre-purchased tickets
If you chose to pick up your tickets at Park Lane Mall as a delivery method, they may be picked up at any time during regular Box Office hours. The Box Office is located on the Spring Garden level of Park Lane Mall. Please ensure you have your confirmation number and identification with you when picking up your tickets. Voucher holders may also exchange their vouchers for tickets at the Box Office.
Badge and Festival Pass Holders (QR coded Badges and Passes)
Badge and pass holders are advised to arrive up to one hour, and no later than 20 minutes, before the screening. Badge and pass holders may proceed to the cinema doors and must have their badge/pass scanned to gain entry to the theatre. A generous number of seats are held for pass holders for each screening, and priority is given to them until that allotment has been
reached—or 20 minutes prior to screening time, at which time Rush Tickets become available to the public. Badges and passes are non-transferable and non-refundable. Seating is not guaranteed if the passholder arrives later than 20 minutes before the screening begins.
Latecomers
All Festival screenings will start on time. There are no refunds on tickets or Festival passes. Seats are not guaranteed past showtime. All ticket holders must be at the theatre no later than 20 minutes prior to the start of the film. Management reserves the right to refuse admission to latecomers.
Back-to-Back Screenings
All theatres must empty between screenings to provide for cleaning. Ticket and pass holders wishing to attend back-to-back screenings in the same cinema will re-enter the ticket holders line at that theatre.
Program Changes
All programs are subject to change. There are no refunds on tickets or Festival passes, unless a screening is cancelled by the Festival. In the event that a screening is cancelled, the Festival will refund or exchange the ticket.
