Post Excellence Award
The American Legion's Post Excellence Award has added new criteria. To qualify for the Post Excellence Award, a post is required to achieve excellence in four areas: membership, submission of the Consolidated Post Report (CPR), attaining a 90 percent renewal rate and community activity.
Along with transfers we need to aggressively seek new members. With the changes made by National
to the service requirements we can recruit new members who served in the late 70’ though the 80’s
that were not eligible before
All members are asked to recruit one new member – It is not hard to do, when you are out and about at
work, church, or events and meet a veteran “Just Ask”
Thank you to Stephanie Cleveland for making phone calls and to Fred, Delbert and everyone else that
worked at the Frisco Gun Club on Sept7th.

Communications Committee Meeting Saturday, August 24, 2019
Attended by Eric Bonar, Terry Meyering and Larry Wilhelm
The committee discussed the proposed strategy and options for creating email
addresses for Post Officers and Committee Chairs.
They also discussed the options for a centralized location to store all Post files,
which include documents, spreadsheets, pictures, graphics, videos and audio files.
Eric has created, and is updating, a document outlining the strategy and a working
timeline to complete the project, along with a spreadsheet that will list all of the
email addresses to be created.
Terry has 36GB of audio recordings from past meetings. He will save the audio
recordings in his OneDrive, download them to a flash drive and give the flash drive
to Delbert. This will make the files easily accessible in case we are unable to access
his computer to retrieve the audio recordings.
The committee agreed that a Policy & Procedures document should be created in
order to share with the existing and incoming Post Officers and Committee Chairs.
