Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time • SEPTEMBER 2, 2018
St. Louis
"Why do your disciples not follow the tradition of the elders but instead eat a
meal with unclean hands?" He responded, "Well did Isaiah prophesy about
you hypocrites, as it is written: This people honors me with their lips, but
their hearts are far from me." - Mk 7:5b-6

Also thanks to all of you who donated crutches, walking boots, walkers, blankets

R C I A Do You Want To Become
A Catholic?
R.C.I.A.—Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults—is a
process for those adults
interested in learning more
about the Catholic faith in
order to receive the
sacraments of Baptism,
Confirmation and Eucharist.
This process is for all men
and women who are not baptized, or
baptized in another Christian church but
in need of further instruction and
initiation, or those baptized in the
Catholic Church but needing more
instruction to complete the sacraments
of Initiation.
SEVEN REASONS TO JOIN R.C.I.A. (Why seven? Seven is a Holy number in the
Old Testament.)
1. You’re marrying a Catholic. (Sharing and practicing your faith together is
a great foundation to a marriage.)
2. You’re already married to a Catholic
and your kids are being raised Catholic. (It’s natural to want to share in the
sacramental experience of your loved ones.)
3. Your children are being raised
Catholic and you just want to learn more
about the tradition without actually
becoming Catholic. (Please join us but you might be surprised
what happens!)
4. You’ve lived in a “Catholic World” all
your life. (This program is for people of all ages. Every
year someone joins us whom everyone in the
Parish assumed was already Catholic!)
5. You don’t know much about
Catholicism but you have a friend or
neighbor who has inspired you to learn
more. (Actions speak louder than words.)
6. You’ve suffered through a personal
loss and are seeking to improve your
faith. (“Blessed are those who mourn, for they
shall be comforted.”)
7. You don’t know why, you just feel
something calling you to the Church. (It’s the Holy Spirit...listen to it.)
For more information, call 934-2603.
Classes start September 23rd!

pie or two, please call Diane Fullenkamp at 812-934-3558.
Bushels of Baskets The Basket Booth is in need of completed baskets or items we
can use to finish off a basket. We always love those items you
decide to re-gift! Candles, kitchen towels, pictures frames,
games and trinkets all work well...only NEW items please. We
are also accepting cash donations. Please drop items off at the
Parish office. If you have any questions please call Wende Lam-
bert, 812-934-5226.
Country Store The Country Store will be in need of your donations of jellies,
pickles, beets, salsa, or any other home canned goods you
might have. If you don’t make jelly or can vegetables, maybe
you can bake some cookies, fudge, bread, pastries, cakes or
pies. If you sew, think about making aprons, potholders, coast-
ers, etc. If you crochet or knit, maybe consider making doilies,
scarves, small lap blankets. If by chance you happen to have
extra fresh garden produce, please consider donating it to the
Country Store.
Beat the Bid Booth We are looking for things that might bring a bid of $25.00 or
more. How about gardening, cooking, raking leaves, Christmas
decorating or cleaning. How about offering tennis or golf les-
sons or hand crafted items. Families could get together and
contribute one bigger item! If you have an item, service, tickets
to a sporting event or play to donate, or any questions, please
call the parish office.
