ANNOUNCEMENTS:

LIBRARY NEWS: “The Drop Box” DVD is now in our Library. Every year, hundreds of babies are abandoned to die on the streets of Seoul, South Korea, and when Pastor Lee Jong-rak found one left on his doorstep in the cold, he promptly built a drop box to keep them safe. Watch this incredible story.

ATTENTION ALL COMMITTEES: The Board of Trustees will be setting the budget for 2015 in a few weeks. Each committee is asked to set their budget and place a copy in Martin Horneman’s mail box or email it to him at [email protected] by OCTOBER 1st.

BAPTISM: We celebrate the infant baptism of Colton Brandon Mast this morning. Colton is the son of Brandon and Keshia Mast, and grandson to Ken and Brenda Bosman. His is also a little brother to Mackenzie. God’s blessings to you as you raise your son in His way!

SAFE @ GRACE ABUSE PREVENTION AND AWARENESS COMMITTEE is providing Abuse Prevention training for those who are volunteering with our youth and vulnerable populations. This training is held every year to ensure that our volunteers are familiar with our Abuse Prevention Policy and its key points. The two training dates are Sunday, September 27 after the morning service, and Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 pm. Both sessions will be in the old fellowship hall. You are asked to read through the Abuse Prevention Policy before the training – it can be found on the “bulletin” page of our website. This training is only for volunteers age 18 and over, and will occur again in the spring. As well, if you have not submitted a Police Background Check in the last three years, please do so. You can be reimbursed for the cost upon request.

“LET’S GO FLY A KITE!!” – the Social Committee invites you to join us at Erieau at 1 o’clock on Sunday, September 20th. Bring a picnic lunch for yourself and your gang. And bring a kite to soar up to great heights! There will be a kite building contest. You must build the kite beforehand and be prepared to fly it that afternoon. Any Gems or Cadets wanting to earn their kite flying badge, talk to Counsellor Ed Wolting or see the info in the narthex. We will meet by the picnic shelter near the playground in Erieau (there is no entry fee). There are available washrooms and the parking lot goes right up to the beach for those with limited mobility. Talk to any member of the Social Committee for more details: Ed Wolting, Tom Deelstra, Helene Postma, Jackie Bultje, Esther Tamminga or Sharon Smith.

WORK MORNING at Church: The BOT (Board of Trustees) are planning a work morning on Saturday,

September 26. The BOT will be working on projects such as putting in curbs, removing stone from the front

garden and pulling stumps. More willing hands for outdoor work would be MUCH appreciated! Please contact

BOT co-chairs Martin Horneman or Gary Heyink for further information.
