Hi! I'm Dave Lamar. I'm half Filipino, Half American. I was born in Lucena City, I was raised in Sariaya,
and I call the Philippines my home. Ever since I can remember Filipinos have always despised the
government, and for good reason. How can you respect a government that's supposed to help and protect
its people when they do the complete opposite? How do you respect your leaders when your leaders are
the ones taking your hard earned money and just putting it in their pockets? For the first time in my short
existence on this planet I finally see people that respect the leadership that was elected. I talk to taxi
drivers, fishermen, farmers, our neighbors in our barangay and just everyday common people and they all
share the same sentiments about Duterte. Yes he's a little rough around the edges and he uses language
that is unorthodox for a president, but for the first time I see a leader of this country that is genuinely
passionate for his people. A president who hurts when his people hurt. Who curses at the injustice that has
been going on her for decades. Who doesn't hide behind the security of a TelePrompTer or speech writer.
Who's love and sincerity for this country is undeniable! For the first time I'm seeing more and more
Filipinos having more pride in their country not just because some Filipino singer sang on Ellen, won a
boxing match, was in a Hollywood movie, or was recognized in some international way that has no impact
on our personal lives. For the first time we have a president that is fighting for his people and is trying to
instill the pride that has long been stolen from us. He is fighting the criminals that have ruled this country
for decades. Yes, drug lords and politicians! He's going against the tide, turning tables over left and right
and cleaning house. So what if he pissed off Obama? There are millions of AMERICANS that hate
Obama because he's the complete opposite of Duterte. He may be clean cut, speak more eloquently and be
more "classy" than Duterte but actions speak louder than any flowery or colorful word you can utter.
Duterte is trying to tell us to stop putting America up on a pedestal and to start having pride in our own
country, our own lands, our own people! America has its own problems and so do we. I love the
Philippines and its people! I think it's about time we take a hint from Duterte and we start having more
pride in this beautiful country just because we are Filipinos and not for anything else. For the first time
there is a leader and president that I finally respect. Mr. President, thank you for everything you do for the
Filipino people! I know you're not perfect, but your actions clearly speak louder than any curse word you
utter.

Three new additions to the farm!
Funny true story – it happened about 27 years ago and I was teaching
kindergarten in the Philippines. (picture below). One of my students stopped
coming to school, so I decided to visit her and find out if she was ok.. The
parents told me that I had scared her by telling the kids there were ghosts
everywhere in the class room.. I told them that I never even mentioned
ghost in the class.. But they said she is scared to go to school. So I prayed
for the girl and apologized to the parents and encouraged her to go to
school. Then I realized why she was scared. OH! The old McDonald song
that I sing with the kids.. Moomoo is ghost in tagalog! I never sang that song
in my class again. If I did sing it, I left the cow out of the song. Heheheh

Kiddo of the Month
Christopher
Hello, my name is Christopher. I
have been at the ranch since
June 16, 2016. I live here with
my 4 other siblings. Outside the
ranch, I am a different person.
Here I can be good and
obedient because I am now
being taught many good things.
FHL’s 8th Church Anniversary
Character Trait of the Month – Self Discipline
I did an experiment with the kids for one day of NO RULES. Started at 7am to 7pm. I think it was the most I have
ever prayed. Hehe! I wanted to see who had self- discipline whether there were rules or not. Turns out that only a
few children, mostly new at the ranch were so thrilled at the NO RULES DAY because that’s what they came from.
The others couldn’t wait for the day to end and have peace and quiet, and be safe again. I think the staff struggled
as much as the kids. Not correcting and allowing them to do whatever they wanted is not easy after being firm and
having boundaries. It was a success! No one killed each other and now the kids and the staff appreciate the rules
we have at the ranch.
Puzzle week to teach more Self- Discipline
At first, they complained that it’s too hard, too many pieces, confusing, neck hurts, back hurts, fighting over who
does what….. when they saw the girls working together and finishing their puzzle, the boys got to work too. Now,
they are enjoying making puzzles and requesting for more challenging ones..
Testimony of Pastor Oscar
We praise God that FHL church has celebrated its 8th anniversary last Sunday,
Sept. 25! It has been a blessing for me and my wife (Babette) and the rest of my
family to go to FHL and worship with the Lamar family, the FHL kids and staff as
well as the people living outside the ranch at Sariaya, Quezon.
I have seen the many changes that has happened in the lives of the people at FHL and how God ministers
and continues to work in and through these people for His glory. His grace that He gives freely to His people
and His Word that is kept in their hearts and seen through their lives encourages all of us to remain faithful,
hopeful and loving God and His people. My prayer for the FHL church is that His people there will continue
to share the love of Jesus and His Word and pass it on to the next generation. To God be all glory and honor
forever and ever!
MY LIFE STORY My name is Mary Grace Tonga and I am 20
years old. My life before is like a big storm. I grew
up in a broken family. My life was miserable with
no direction. My mother had 17 children with 10
different men. I was one of those beggars on the
street and we roamed around begging for food
and money. We slept in jeeps and on the streets.
I was two years old and my brother was one year old when we got separated from our
mother. My younger brother and I lived in the DSWD (government institution) for 8 years.
Then they sent my brother to an orphanage without me knowing. The orphanage was FAITH
HOPE AND LOVE KIDS RANCH. I got so angry because they sent my brother there without me
knowing. So I gave the staff a hard time and didn’t eat for 3 days. I told them that I wouldn’t
listen and eat until they sent my brother back. So they didn’t have a choice. They called
Mommy Lorraine and told her that my brother has another sister and
asked if they could get me also. The next day, they came and got me.
When I was new, I was stubborn and naughty. I did not follow the rules
and did everything that I wanted. But being at the ranch for a month, I
was disciplined and loved. Little by little, my attitude changed and I
realized that they are not the people who hurt children. This
orphanage is not bad after all. After 2 years, I saw my little sister on
the street with my mom. I prayed that somehow my mom would give her to the Ranch so we
could be together. God answered my prayer and it happened! We were loved and disciplined
and we were taken good care of. They treated us like their own children. They also home-
schooled us and taught us the Word of God. I stayed at the Ranch for almost 6 years. We were
supposed to be up for adoption but my mother wouldn’t sign our papers to be surrendered.
Since I was already getting too old to be adopted, by law we must be reunited back to
relatives. My older brother, that I didn’t even know, was looking for us. We talked to him and
they decided to reunite us with him and so it went well and our brother took us and brought
us to Batangas, another town 2 hours away. That’s where I met my husband and his family.
When I was staying there, Mommy Lorraine supported us for all the things we needed for
school. I went to school for only two weeks and stopped and I just helped Carlo, my husband’s
parents, cook sweet stuff to sells. After a month, Carlo and I became boyfriend and girlfriend
and we lived together with his parents. After living together for almost six months, I got

pregnant with my first child named Gabriel. After a year, I gave birth to a baby girl named
Carla Jane. Even though there were a lot of trials that came to our lives, we still stayed strong
and tried our best to keep our relationship strong and healthy. After four years, I had the
courage to call Mommy Lorraine and try to fix all my mistakes that I had made. Mommy was
also praying for me at the time, and wanted to talk to me too. When we talked, we laughed
and cried together. Everything was good and well and she invited us to go the ranch for
Christmas 2015 and so my sister and my two children went to the ranch and spent our
Christmas together. Daddy and Mommy wanted to extend help to me and my family and
offered us a job. I went back to Batangas and talk to Carlo about it. At first, he did not agree
with my decision so I just stayed at Batangas for a while and in an unexpected moment, Carlo
agreed to my decision of going back to the ranch and working there. So I talked to Mommy
Lorraine and we planned to go to the ranch the next morning. We were given a job and a place
to stay in the ranch. I am going back to school once a week to get my high school diploma too.
Daddy Celing built us a small house to stay and their son, Micah bought us a pig as a gift to us.
It’s been 3 months we stayed at the ranch and this SEPTEMBER 25th on the same day of the
churches 8th anniversary, we got married and Carlo’s family and relatives came to attend the
wedding ceremony of the two of us and it became successful and that day that we had our
wedding, it was the greatest moment for the two of us and I was blessed that I was able to fix
my life and move on with Jesus and the Lamar’s and my FHL Family.
Carlo & Grace
By God’s amazing grace, they will live
happily ever after! AMEN!!
