CHURCH NEWS
Finance Committee Report – Thanks to God for all our Blessings
The shingles on the parsonage had been repaired in past years and really needed to
be replaced. The bid to replace the parsonage shingles was $8,300. So, a fund drive
was organized in July; and by mid-August the goal was met and the shingling job was
done! Thanks to all of you helped us meet the goal to pay for shingling the parson-
age.
A few members are working with the Worship Committee and Pastor Lori to research
new microphones, a new projector, and other audio and video components used in
our worship services. The cost of replacing these items is not known at this point, but
it could be as much as $4,000. More information on this project will be announced in
October. Gifts for this project should be labeled before placing into the offering.
You are all invited to an Open House at Marcia Ulrich’s home at 1505 Sweetwater Drive NE on Sunday, Sept. 9 from 2:00-5:00 pm. This is also a kick-off for the new choir year.
MISSIONS UPATE Sunday Brunch Sept. 30 after worship. Offering to Tana Triepke to defray expenses of her upcoming mission trip to Puerto Rico in November. This is a UMCOR sponsored project. Tana will speak about the mission before the brunch. This will be a special meal with fried fish, hash brown casserole, baked beans, salad, rolls and apple pie. Time for Christmas Shoebox Project. Start collecting shoe-boxes and wrapping paper.
BREAKTHROUGH PRAYER
If you missed the prayer group last week you can still participate
through our new prayer cards and through many prayer means
such as prayer walking or meeting for prayer, prayer journaling,
etc. See Pastor Lori for more details.

FUMC Administrative Council Meeting Minutes August 22, 2018
Members present: Pastor Lori Broschat, Perry and Nancy Lundon, Chuck and Jonielle Soderstrom, Gwen Hodgins, Marcia Ulrich,
Dave Hermann, Leo Sayler and Rodney Brown
Call to Order: Chairperson Chuck Soderstrom called the meeting to order, Pastor Lori shared a devotion and prayer.
Approval of Minutes: Chuck called for approval of the July minutes; motion was made by Gwen, seconded by Dave, motion car-
ried.
Treasurer’s Report: Perry reviewed the July financial report, as of July 31 showing a $33,828.41 balance in the checking ac-
count. The expenses for July were $14,115.41 and the income was $17,450.84 for a difference of + $3335.43 for the month.
Perry moved to approve, seconded by Dave, motion carried. Chuck asked Perry to provide an itemized list of expenses each
month.
Finance Committee Report: Leo reported there has been $8230.00 brought in through donations to the roof shingling project. The
total bill was $8597.43 and the Endowment fund will cover the balance.
Leo and Ray Russell have been working on updating the sound system and PowerPoint – doing research on what other churches
are using - they feel the costs may run between $2,000-5,000 depending on what they find out. Leo and Lori have information
from the conference on funds that might be available through the Builders Club to update the sound system.
Board of Trustees Report: Dave stated the roof shingling project is complete.
Jonielle reported she has researched on the status of the organ – there are no parts available due to its age – and therefore it may
not be able to be fixed. However, Ray R. will look at it in October to see if he can fix it before we make a final decision on what to
do with it.
Staff Parish Relations Report: No report
Endowment Report: No report
Missions Report: They will be hosting a fish fry the last Sunday in September with free will offering going to Tana Triepke’s mission
trip to Puerto Rico.
UMW Report: Next meeting is Wed, Sept. 5 with K Roemmich giving the lesson.
Education Committee Report: Jonielle reported church school will start on Wednesday, October 3 and Pastor Lori stated confirma-
tion will begin then as well.

starting in October as well.
Worship Committee Report: Nancy stated they met earlier tonight to plan for the upcoming seasons. Choir practice will start on
Monday, Sept. 10. at 5:30 pm.
Pastor’s Report: Lori reported she is no longer on any conference boards and therefore will not have any more out of town/state
travel except for Annual Conference.
She would like to start up the Faith Friends again with the confirmation students.
She would like to update the building policy for use by non-members for weddings, trainings, meetings, etc. Trustees would proba-
bly be the best committee to work on it with input from others such as UMW.
Old Business: Lori reported no one wants the old sound equipment so she will try to post on DL Rummage on Facebook.
Leo is still working on cordoning off the stairs to the balcony so it’s not used unless we have overflow.
