We are in full swing with Children's Ministries at KIUMC! Sunday, September 2nd marked the beginning of the new Sunday School year. We began with the Litany of Passage - children moving from one grade to the next. Many exciting activities for the children in the coming months, including Children's Choir, an open house, and the Birthday Party for Jesus. Sunday School begins at 11AM each Sunday morning. Check the Sunday School Office door in the hallway near the Sanctuary for room numbers of the classes. Wednesday, September 5th is the opening class of Kids Club! Led by Jeff Reidel, this one hour program, from 7-8pm is a time for fun, Bible stories and a fun craft. Plus, singing and prayer - come to the Connections dinner before and send your child to this fun mid-week refresher. Sunday, September 9th is the date for the first Children's Chapel Revamped. Children aged 4 through third grade are welcomed to a Bible story time during the second part of the 9:30 a.m. service. Children will participate in the Worship for the first 20-30 minutes of the service, then will be dismissed to go to Room 109 for a time of fellowship with their friends. Children may be picked up by their parents after the service in room 109. Children's Chapel is available every Sunday except the 1st Sunday, when families are invited to have Holy Communion together. Questions about any of these ministries, please contact Sharon Richter at [email protected]

The Healing Service for August was held on Sunday, August 26th, the worship was led by Kristi Rada &
Pastor Dane Rada, the message was given by Pastor Dane Rada. He spoke from Isaiah 64:1-8 and Mark
2:1-12, 18-22. Pastor Dane highlighted from Isaiah how much God loves us, enough to "rend the heavens"
to reach us and that we are each created for a purpose. He is the potter, we are the clay and we were not
created for earthly purposes but for God's purposes. We need to submit entirely to Him, give up self for the
purpose of the Potter. Many times we fight our purpose instead of submitting to it. The paralytic in Mark
2:1-12 was lowered through a ceiling to get to Jesus, his friends went through a lot for their friend to receive
healing, they were submitting to their purpose. Pastor Dane
encouraged us to cut through whatever is trying to keep us from
receiving our healing, the enemy will try to keep you from receiving
what God has for you but we must praise God even in the midst of pain
and keep pressing forward and ask God "what is my purpose in this
situation". Mark 2:18-22 Pastor Dane highlighted the fact that once we
receive Christ we are now a
new creation in Christ, a new
wine skin, putting old wine in
a new wine skin will not work,
we must leave the old behind
and press into the new and He
will answer and heal you, do
not go backwards but
continue to press onward
asking God, who will rend the
heavens to answer you and shake whatever mountain you are
facing. Rise and walk in the purpose God has for you and be filled
with His new wine.
Following the worship and message there was a time of communion and anointing with oil and prayer at the rail as well as prayer in the chapel area. The presence of the Lord was evident and many gave testimony of the touch of the Lord.
Our next healing service will be held on September 23rd

“I am 26 years old, and a member of the Evangelical Methodist
Church of Costa Rica. Currently I am a student of the Evangelical
Methodist Seminary of Costa Rica. It was such an amzing time to
come and visit with Pastor Mark and Mr. Gil. I am honored to call
them my friends. I look forward to seeing and being part of all God
will do in the following years, and I hope to be a blessing for the
church in the United States. Love you Kent Island UMC!
