I am pleased to announce that Dr. Bruce Sweet of Emmanual United in Waterloo has joined the Wing as our Chaplain. Prior to his present assignment, Bruce was for 20 years Chaplain in the Canadian Forces with postings across the country. I know that you will make Bruce and his wife welcome. Thanks to the members I have been given a tremendous Wing Executive Council that has been busy this summer moving on with many plans to keep your Wing active and vibrant. As usual it will be held at the Waterloo Cenotaph which is on Regina St. beside the Waterloo City Hall. This event will be on September 16 th , with parade form up at 1:00 pm, march off at 1:30 pm and service to start at 2:00 pm. The parade will be marching out onto William to King, turning right and proceeding down King Street. We will be marching on King with the Street being closed as it is a special celebration and we will be stopping on King , then facing the town center to take part in the singing of O Canada. Then proceeding to the Cenotaph for our Memorial to those who lost their lives in securing freedom for future generations. Spread the word, bring you family and friends so we may continue to show our dedication to this 72nd. Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

The Annual July 1st Picnic washeld again this year at the B.F.Goodrich Foremen’s Club near St.Agatha. All six Veterans’Associations were in attendancewith 178 people enjoying goodfood, games and camaraderie.The A.N.A.F. I hope everyone had a goodsummer. It sure was a hot one.Our Ladies Auxiliary barbecuewas a big success with aroundone hundred people, three bandsand the Wing was hopping. Ihave had mixed comments aboutthe night, although it wascrowded, we didn't run out offood or willing helpers.The Ladies catered a birthdayparty for Del Budd, hard tobelieve he's 88 years young anda long time member of the 404Wing. The Ladies also did aluncheon for the 55 Plus group,so we had a busy summer.
Three great ladies of the Auxiliaryhave had surgery this summer,Lucille Vlasic, Aline McCubbinand Anne Mulhall, and by allreports they are doing well. Takeyour time and get well, ourthoughts and prayers are withyou.Now, on a happier note, our ownDonna Kuehl received a muchdeserved award and medal inhonour of the Queen's DiamondJubilee for all of her volunteerwork.We are losing two great ladiesfrom our Executive this year, AdaMonaghan and Ann Knill. Thank
you for your years of service; wewill miss you.We are starting up our FridayLunches on September 14th.
