AUGUST DCMOn August 25, Key Cubbers

attended the August DCM, which was held at Lincoln Parkin Tracy. As we all sat on the grass, LTG, Jonathan Wong,

made some announcements about the division and updated us with current and past events. The meeting was quick and short, leaving enough time for a game of water balloon fight. For a onedollar donation, each person gets 2 water balloons to throw at thedollar donation, each person gets 2 water balloons to throw at theothers. All the money went to Project Eliminate to help eliminate

Maternal Neonatal Tetanus (MNT).

Get ready!

A MESSAGE FROM THE LTG

Hi Division 27 South,

I hope all of you are doing well and having a great start to a new school year. As we transition into a routine, I hope you all are making Key Club a part of your lives. Club rush has passed for most of us, and now is the time to focus on keeping members. Brainstorm creative ways to keep members interested: make it a tradition to play a fun icebreaker at every meeting, or even have a reward for everyone that attends. However, don't forget to emphasize the a reward for everyone that attends. However, don't forget to emphasize the main focus of Key Club: service! Keep serving your communities because there is always someone you can help. Coming soon on September 29th at Pleasant Grove High School is the Region 16 Training Conference (RTC). I want each and every one of you to attend! Reflecting upon last year, I remember RTC as one of the events that kindled my passion for Key Club. RTC will be a great opportunity to meet Key Clubbers from other divisions and learn from educa-tional workshops. I hope to see you there! Remember, if you have ANY questions, tional workshops. I hope to see you there! Remember, if you have ANY questions, feel free to contact me.

Wishing you a spectacular month,

Jonathan Wong

CLUB UPDATESMERRILL F. WEST HIGH SCHOOL

Our first meeting was held in the cafeteria at our school, and about 40 students attended. It was great! I noticed that many of the atten-dees were freshmen who were looking for community service opportunities. We were welcomed by our LTG Jonathan Wong, who introduced himself to the new and returning introduced himself to the new and returning members and talked a bit about big upcoming events like Fall Rally. Membership and interest forms were passed out, and students signed up to volunteer for our club's upcoming events, like the Manteca Kiwanis Pumpkin Fair.
