September 2017 OHMI Music Makers on Tour Towards the end of the summer term, the OHMI Music Makers were busy taking part in three separate end of term celebrations. On 1 st July, OHMI Music Makers from Birmingham and Surrey joined together at Cecil Sharp House as part of the OHMI Awards Event. The students learned new pieces during the afternoon and then performed them during the awards ceremony. This was a great demonstration of how the OHMI Competition has provided opportunities for new music makers. This was just a warm up for our Birmingham Music Makers. On the 18 th July they performed at the Symphony Hall and on the 22 nd July, they performed with the City of Birmingham Brass Band at Joseph Chamberlain College. At both events our players performed with style and panache, and were testament to all the hard work that’s gone into the OHMI ensemble during the year. The teachers in charge of the group have worked so hard during the year and were rightly proud of what each pupil achieved. European Doctors Orchestra – Making Music for a Good Cause On the 3rd June 2018, The OHMI Trust will be collaborating with the European Doctors Orchestra for a special concert in Warwick Arts Centre Concert Hall. On the night, soloist and OHMI Ambassador, Nicholas McCarthy will be taking the stage. Advert spots and sponsorship opportunities are available for the EDO.
