Mike Thomas will be th e speaker at the September meeting. His topic will be the

attle of Williamsburg Road (October 27, 1864) which took place very near theichmond International Airport. This little studied battle was General Jamesongstreet's first action since the previous May when he wounded at The

Wilderness and is full of suspense & drama. Longstreet, with less than 8,000 men, opped 30,000 Yankees in Grant's last attempt to take Richmond from north of e James. Superb Confederate leadership, profound courage and hot Southernad are the keys to this battle. Our camp has a connection to this battle which wille prominently mentioned. Bring a friend or relative to the meeting.

e American Civil War Program e American Civil War Program was created in 1988 when my middle son was in elementary school. I was asked to come to his school toe a civil war program for his 5th grade class. The program went so well that I was invited back the next year. After a few years the wordaround to other schools and the program has expanded from schools to senior groups and county and state fairs. I have always tried to

make this program an entertaining way to learn about the life of the civil war soldier.he American Civil War Program DVD was created to bring the program into the classrooms, libraries, and homes of people all over theS and even the world. This DVD is a great way to help educate children and adults alike about the actual events, artifacts, lifestyle, and

culture of our forefathers during the American Civil War. We hope you enjoy this DVD as much as we enjoyed making it.
