Meet Dagny, C.E.O of Sequinz magazine. She’s a creative and very interesting person. She loves to write. Especially about books and fashion and is the coolest person to work with- ever. She got the idea to start her own magazine while rollerblading- no joke. “Why do magazines always tell lies?” Dagny has always wondered. She still hasn’t found the answer to that question, but she knows one thing... Sequinz will NEVER become one of those gossip-filled book of horrors.

Savannah Ziemann, C.E.O. of Sequinz Magazine has an amazing sense of fashion and makeup. Nothing she wears is too much or too little. And where would this magazine be if her design skills weren’t so amazing? Just know-ing her makes your life more exciting. Sequinz wouldn’t be what it is without her.

Does he like you? We know you’re wondering... 1. He catches you staring at him as he’s walking down the hall. His response is... A. Smiles at you sweetly, and brushes up against you as he passes. B. Laughs with his friends, but winks at you when they aren’t looking. C. Rolls his eyes and adds a rude comment to his friends that you “weren’t supposed to hear”.

2. You’re standing at your locker between classes and the popular girl knocks your books out of your arms while he’s watching. He... A. Runs to help you pick them up, and comments on her ridiculous new hair cut. B. Makes a sorry face at you, but leaves once the bell rings. C. Cracks up then runs to catch up with your enemy.

3.There’s a dance on Friday and you don’t have a date... You decide to toughen up and ask him to go with you. He says... A . “Yeah, I’d love to. Pick you up at seven.” B. “Ummm... I already have a date. Sorry...” C. “Your serious? Oh my god, you guys, she’s SERIOUS!”

4. You’re at the movies with your best friend, and you spot him at the concession stand, you say hi. And he... A. Smiles and says, “We should totally sit together!” B. Smiles and waves back, then grabs his popcorn and keeps on walking. C. Glares at you and says, “Do I know you?” 5. You made up a nickname for him so that he would never know you were talking about him, but he “ac cidentally” finds out. He confronts you at lunch and says... A. “So... Do you like me?” B. “ Cupcake?... really?” then walks away, but turns around to smile at you. C. “We all know you like me, you could’ve just said my real name and been less of a nerd.”

Mostly A’s Did you really even have to take this quiz to know that whoever he is, he is tot- ally into you!? It’s not going to be hard to get him to ask you out... If he hasn’t already.

Mostly B’s He sure likes you... But he’s either way too shy to let you know completely, or he’s embarrassed by it... or he just likes you as a a friend. You should probably just forget about him.

Mostly C’s I think you definitely already had to know this... He likes you not so much (or not at all). Maybe secretly... But why waste your time on someone who can’t even share his feelings?

Store Of The Month...

I’m not just being prejudice against other stores, but Forever 21 has been the only store I’ve found to feed my fashion hunger. They have SO many different styles. All the way from the 50s until Modern day fashion and they fluc-tuate so often that it’s impossible to get bored. So, if you haven’t already; go, go, go! You won’t be disappointed by the super cheap fashion you can’t find anywhere else.

Here’s a crazy idea- Let’s get to know Dagny Norbeck;

the magazines’ chief of fashion. If there’s one thing we

can say about her, it’s that she knows exactly how to

dress and exactly when to dress it... Not that she does.

But that’s why she’s so darn fashionable!

Do you get what we’re saying? Yes? No?

I’m not sure there really is a way to put Dagny in

words...

Maybe we can show you just how awesome she is...

“I’ve never felt so traumatized in my life!” says a little over dramatic Mandy Norbeck, after being attacked by an angry bird in the flats of appleton. “I sprinted up the hill with the bird right behind me!” Many pedestrians of Water St. have complained about the reoc-curring bird attacks. But whats the weirdest thing about this bird? It only attacks people that walk by alone. “Wear your helmet and bring a tennis racket.” says Therese Ziemann. We think that this bird is a mother trying to protect her children. But we have no proof. So all we can do is wait for the bird’s kids to grow up.

Rosewood is a perfect little town. So quiet and pristine, you’d never guess it holds so many secrets. Some ofthe ugliest ones belong to the prettiest girls in town –Aria, Spencer, Hannah and Emily, four estranged friends whose darkest secrets are about to unravel.

Have You read the books? If you haven’t, we suggest you do before you watch the show. Remember, never judge a book by its movie.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series by Rick Riordan:Percy Jackson comes before homework. These books always have a fast-paced, heart-pound-ing, sitting on the edge of your seat “whats going to happen next?” feeling. All of the books in the series are always checked out at our library, and always sold out in the stores. I recommend this book to readers of any age that love (or want to love) the adventure of Greek mythology.

Page 19: Sequinz July

Karate Kid 2010Although I love the original Karate Kid and Ralph Machio, I have to say that Jaden(Smith) is quite a bit more talented in the acting category. There’s no doubt about that, but “Dre Parker” wasn’t the only character we liked better than the original. What about Mr. Han, played by Jackie Chan? I loved that he had lots of attitude and an actual life story. Not only that, but we could relate to the characters more often, because they were closer to ourage group. So, if you don’t believer that it’s better than the first, then go see for yourself! 5 stars for Jaden, Jackie and Kung Fu!

SpliceWe were extremely “pumped” to see the newest horror movie, Splice, with some family mem-bers. We regret that now… Splice has an interesting concept (mixing human and animal DNA). But it was not a family friendly movie, and if you don’t like blood or.. abnormal looking “humans” then you probably wouldn’t like this movie. We give this movie one star because we think the idea of this DNA mixing movie is creative and interesting.

Iron Man 2We’re practically drooling over Iron Man 2... and not just because of Robert Downey Jr., either.Just because we’re girls doesn’t mean we don’t love action, too! When Tony Stark starts to have medical issues, He has to save himself- while saving the world from Ivan (Mickey Rourke), the movie’s latest super villain, who’s seeking revenge- with a little help from James Rhodes, a.k.s. “Rhody”. But here’s what you really want to know- does he get the girl? Yes- girl. In singular form, meaning Pepper Potts. Well, we can’t tell you anyway. We’re giving this movie 4 stars. It’s only missing that one star, because of the casting failure of Rhody, otherwise, it’d be right up there at the top.

Why We Love

The overriding theme of the 80s? BIG! The bigger, the better, and that went for everything from hair to shoulder pads to egos. You think teen drama is big now? Check out the Breakfast Club. Pretty in Pink. Sixteen Candles. You think Emo is emotional? Listen to the Psychedelic Furs. All of those are a lesson in new wave and pastel. The rebirth of 50s rebellion, only big-ger…and a lot more conservative. Ok – one exception - pants had to be small, especially at the bottom. If they weren’t small enough at the bottom, well, that’s where the tight-roll came in. -

What isn’t there to love about the fashion???

What we see in stores and in Hollywood today is always changing. This year... the 80s are coming back! Thanks to Lady GaGa? Maybe... Thanks to her either way. Anyways... my point is... Even though we had to go through the tretcherous 90s, we must have gotten our senses back enough to see that what we used to wear... Never went out of style. Do you get where I’m going with this? 80s = Fashion.

...Music?Yes, we love the music, too. Our favorite is Michael Jackson. We love Madonna... and David Bowie... Journey...R.E.O Speedwagon... Getting on track! The 80s holds the best dance music EVER in history... and we love to dance, too, incase you didn’t know. Who doesn’t?!

Our Personal Favorite...

On a bright summer day, Dagny and I were sitting at City Park waiting for our July model to arrive. We waited for about five minutes... Just when we were starting to get irritated at her lack of arrival, we saw a girl in blonde pig tails riding toward us on a bike... It was Ella, of course. She was wearing jeans and a red T-shirt. “Okay, so what do ya want me to do?” was one of the first things I recall her saying. We handed her the first outfit and told her how to wear it... (No, the cover outfit was NOT meant to be a dress).I have to tell you, she is not the best walker in high heels. But as soon as we got the camera out, I could tell this photoshoot was going to be a piece of cake. It only took two shots at the most to get the pictures we were looking for with each outfit. At one point, she was on her cell phone, waiting for us to decide where to take the next pictures when Dagny yelled. “Ella! Get on the ground! Now!” jokingly, of course. But Ella screamed and threw her cell phone and did as she was told. Dedicated? Or scared easily? You’ll never know!

A little Over a year ago, when I first saw Charice on The Oprah Winfrey show, I was in awe at how someone could control their voice as she could. I immediately bought her first single, “Note To God” and it still gives me goose bumps everytime I hear it. When I heard she was going to be performing at Chicken Fest for a FREE concert, I nearly jumped out of my romper! Free concert and Charice didn’t fit together in my head, but I stepped all over the chance to see her. Me and a friend got a ride there right away and waited in the front row for 3 hours to make sure we’d be able to see her. After seeing “Jaicko” perform, I could barely handle the 20 minute wait... Before the concert started, she sweetly waved at her fans from back stage. After 10 minutes, we were told we could go up to the stage for her perfor-mance, but only if we went to the back of the crowd afterwards. I talked my friend into letting me... I don’t regret it at all! Charice’s voice is amaz-ing and she has to be one of the sweetest singers I’ve ever met. After the show, my aunt decided that she needed to get an autograph for me. She begged and begged that they let her get an autograph for her niece, until they let her up. “Oh, I’m so sorry I missed your niece!” Charice said to her. Although, I wish I could’ve gotten the autograph for myself, it’s so much better than nothing. I can’t wait to see her on the next season of Glee! I’ll definitely support you, Charice. If you missed Chicken Fest, I’m sorry, but maybe now I’ll see you there next year!
