Present Progressive:

In Spanish you can express what is happening right now in 2 ways:› I am running.

Regular present tense: Yo corro. Present Progressive: Yo estoy corriendo.

Spanish speakers would use the regular present tense much more than the Present Progressive.

Present progressive is only used for what is happening RIGHT NOW – tends to be used more as emphasis.
