DOCUMENTATION
Input of data related to the elements included in National Register, their regular updating and depositing various document types relating to ICH elements (text documents, video, photo and audio materials);
Defining access levels for users with various permissions (along with administrators and database operators, other user types may have access to data, under defined conditions, for the purpose of research and study);
The public availability of a selected set of data from the database through the internet presentation (www.nkns.rs/nacionalniregistar)

Raising Awareness of the Importance of Registered ICH of the Republic of Serbia through the Enhancement of the National Register of ICH
November 6, 2015, at the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade
with the support of UNESCO under the 2015 Participation Programme
CONFERENCE
Participants:
• representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of
Serbia;
• National Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage, Commission for Inscription of Intangible Cultural Heritage in the National Register,
• regional coordinators,
• ICH bearers and nominators for inscription on the National Register,
• representatives of cultural institutions, professional associations, NGOs and interested individuals
CONFERENCE
Conclusions:
• The established system of ICH safeguarding has proved to be functional and it has covered all relevant stakeholders in the process
of ICH safeguarding and preservation;
• Professional bodies – the National Committee for ICH, the Commission for Inscription of ICH in the National Register,
regional coordinators, the Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage, have clearly demarcated responsibilities and areas of action;
• The inscription on the National List of ICH has been recognized as an important first step in the safeguarding of ICH element
CONFERENCE
Recommendations:
• Improving coordination between professional bodies through the exchange of information and identification and harmonization of priorities in ICH
safeguarding;
• Creating opportunities for a more active and visible role for professional associations, which may be the crucial link between ICH bearers/nominators
and professional bodies;
• Elaborating safeguarding measures relating to individual elements inscribed on ICH lists, which could become an integral part of the decision on including an
element in the National Register;
• Updating documentation on ICH by regular reporting on the planned and implemented activities relating to ICH.
