General Information
• Operates automatically off-line pressure.• Heavy-duty, nylon-reinforced diaphragm
isolates top chamber operating pressure from bottom chamber line pressure.
• Rectangular-shaped, soft seat seal provides drip-tight Class VI closure.
• Diaphragm assembly guided top and bottom.• Throttling seat retainer for flow and pressure
stability.• Easily maintained without removal from the
line.• Diaphragm replaced without removing
internal stem assembly.• Replaceable seat ring.• Alignment pins assure proper reassembly
after maintenance.• Center-tapped bonnet facilitates installation
of position indicator or valve-actuated switches.
• Ductile iron and steel valves are epoxy-coated inside and out, for maximum corrosion protection.
• Valves are factory tested.• Valves are serial numbered and registered
to facilitate replacement parts and factory support.
• Allows valve to close instantaneously upon pressure reversal, eliminating reverse flow.
• Split spool design.• Lift check can be added as a feature to
existing valves by replacing spool assembly.• Valve must be mounted with stem in vertical
position.

Basic Valve Operating ModesOn-Off Mode
Valve Closed
When line pressure from the valve in let is applied to the cover chamber, pressuring the diaphragm, the valve is closed drip-tight.
Valve Open
When diaphragm chamber pressure is vented the valve travels to the full open position.
Valve Modulating
The valve is between full open and closed. The valve’s control pilot modulates the pressure in the diaphragm chamber, positioning the valve to control the desired pressure or flow. pilot systems provide accurate control in a wide range of performance requirements.

Cavitation Chart
How to use the chart:
The chart sets the safe limits for valves that are supposed to operate at a considerable pressure differential.Such conditions generate noise and possible cavitation damages to the valve body. How to use the chart:i. Determine the maximal dynamic pressure that may be applied in the inlet of the valve.ii. Draw an horizontal line from the pressure scale at the left side of the chartiii. Find the requested outlet pressure in the pressure scale at the bottom of the chart.iv. Draw an upward line at this point.v. The intersection of the two lines defines the cavitation characteristics of the valve operation.
- In the case that it falls in the RED zone (case I) - the valve may be damaged in a fairly short time.- In the case that it falls in the GREEN zone (case II) - the valve may generate a noise that exceeds 80db.

Waterworks Control Application
Electronic and Remote control functions
EL Solenoid Controlled Valve
A 3-way solenoid valve, activated by an electric current or an electric pulse, which opens or closes the main valve. The standard valve is supplied in the ”normally closed” position. The “normally open” position is optional.Electric activation can be added to other control valves on request.
ELPR
PSEC
EC Electronically- controlled valve
The valve is controlled by the versatile “ConDor”, a user-friendly controller that enables highly accurate control of all the functions listed above. The “ConDor” enables an unlimited number of control functions such as, time related operation, the batching of liquid, and conditional (automatically modified) control parameters, in various applications.
Pressure Regulating functions
PR Pressure Reducing valve
The valve maintains a preset downstream pressure, regardless of upstream pressure or flow rate fluctuation. The main valve is controlled by either a 3-way pilot valve (allowing full opening when downstream pressure drops below the set-point), or by a 2-way pilot valve (creating a pressure differential in any condition).
PS Pressure Sustaining valvePS(R) Pressure Relief Valve
The valve maintains upstream pressure, regardless of flow rate variations. The valve will be in the “closed” position if the upstream pressure drops below the set-point and will fully open when the upstream pressure exceeds the set-point.
PS/EL Pressure Relief Valve
The valve will keep a closed position when the solenoid-valve is de-energized and will maintain a steady, predetermined pressure in the network, upstream of its location when the solenoid-valve is energized.

PR\PS Pressure Reducing& Sustaining Valve
The valve will open when the pressure reached a predetermined pressure, upstream of its location. The valve will limit the downstream pressure to a set value, regardless of upstream pressure and flow variations.

SFR
FRD
I
DI Pressure Differential Sustaining Valve
The valve maintains a preset pressure differential between the upstream and downstream pressures. The valve controls the booster pump discharge, heating and cooling systems, bypass configurations, etc...
Rate of Flow Regulating Functions
FR Flow Rate Control Valve
The valve limits the flow rate in the network to a preset level, regardless of pressure variations. The valve fully opens when the flow rate drops below the set-point.
FR\EL Electrically-activated Flow Control Valve
The valve will maintain a closed position and will regulate the flow to a steady, predetermined value when the solenoid-valve is energized.
FE Excessive Flow Shut-Off Valve
The valve closes when the flow rate exceeds the normal value (due to pipe rupture, for example).Optional Addition: Surge-Preventing Closure (SP).

Pumping Systems Control and WaterHammer/Surge protection
BC Pump Control Valve
The valve eliminates damaging surges caused by pump start-up and shut-off.The electrically activated valve gradually opens on pump start-up, and slowly closes before the pump is switched off. In case of unexpected power failure, the valve operates as a non-slam check valve, preventing reverse flow.Optional Additions: Flow Rate Limitation (FR), Extended Closure (CD), Two-Stage Operating (TO), Reducing (PR) and Sustaning Pressure (PS).
CV Non-return Valve
The valve will open when the upstream pressure is higher than the downstream pressure and close drip tight in case the upstream pressure is equal or lower than the downstream pressure. The opening and closing speed is slow and controllable, so to prevent the risk for water-hammer / surge.
REEL Surge Anticipating Valve
The valve will maintain a drip tight closed position under normal operating conditions and will open fully when the solenoid is energized; the valve closes at a slow pace preventing secondary surges when the solenoid de-energized. The valve will also open to relief access pressure in the line.Optional Additions: Surge-Preventing Closure (SP).
QR Quick-Relief Safety Valve
The valve instantly opens when the pressure in the pipeline exceeds the safe level, thus relieving excessive pressure from the network. When the pressure returns to normal, the valve closes slowly, at an adjustable pace.
REE
L
Level Control Valves
AL Altitude Control Valve
The main valve is controlled by a highly sensitive pilot, located outside the tank. The pilot opens or closes the valve in response to the static pressure of the water. The pilot allows for differential adjustments between the maximum and minimum level.Optional Addition: Surge-Preventing Closure (SP).
