Matthew 24:36

36 “But about that day or hour no one

knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor

the Son, but only the Father.

Page 5: Sermon 12.01.13

Matthew 24:37-38

37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will

be at the coming of the Son of Man.

38 For in the days before the flood, people

were eating and drinking, marrying and

giving in marriage, up to the day Noah

entered the ark;

Page 6: Sermon 12.01.13

Matthew 24:39

39 and they knew nothing about what

would happen until the flood came and

took them all away. That is how it will be at

the coming of the Son of Man.

Matthew 24:40-44

40 Two men will be in the field; one will be

taken and the other left. 41 Two women

will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be

taken and the other left.

42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do

not know on what day your Lord will come.

Matthew 24:40-44

43 But understand this: If the owner of the

house had known at what time of night the

thief was coming, he would have kept

watch and would not have let his house be

broken into. 44 So you also must be ready,

because the Son of Man will come at an

hour when you do not expect him.

Romans 13:11-14

11 And do this, understanding the present

time: The hour has already come for you to

wake up from your slumber, because our

salvation is nearer now than when we first

believed.

12 The night is nearly over; the day is

almost here. So let us put aside the deeds

of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Page 12: Sermon 12.01.13

Romans 13:11-14

13 Let us behave decently, as in the

daytime, not in carousing and

drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and

debauchery, not in dissension and

jealousy.

14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord

Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to

gratify the desires of the flesh.

#1 Where are they taken?

Matthew 13:41-44

41 The Son of Man will send out his

angels, and they will weed out of his

kingdom everything that causes sin and all

who do evil. 42 They will throw them into

the blazing furnace, where there will be

weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then

the righteous will shine like the sun in the

kingdom of their Father.

Page 16: Sermon 12.01.13

Matthew 24:31

31 And he will send his angels with a loud

trumpet call, and they will gather his elect

from the four winds, from one end of the

heavens to the other.

Page 17: Sermon 12.01.13

Deuteronomy 30:3-4

3 then the LORD your God will restore your

fortunes and have compassion on you and

gather you again from all the nations where

he scattered you. 4 Even if you have been

banished to the most distant land under the

heavens, from there the LORD your God

will gather you and bring you back.

Revelation 5

5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not

weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the

Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open

the scroll and its seven seals.” 6 Then I saw a

Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at

the center of the throne, encircled by the four

living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had

seven horns and seven eyes, which are the

seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

7 He went and took the scroll from the right hand

of him who sat on the throne.

Page 24: Sermon 12.01.13

Revelation 5

8 And when he had taken it, the four living

creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down

before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they

were holding golden bowls full of incense, which

are the prayers of God’s people. 9 And they

sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its

seals, because you were slain, and with your

blood you purchased for God persons from

every tribe and language and people and nation.

Revelation 5

10 You have made them to be a kingdom and

priests to serve our God, and they will reign on

the earth.”

11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many

angels, numbering thousands upon thousands,

and ten thousand times ten thousand. They

encircled the throne and the living creatures and

the elders. 12 In a loud voice they were saying:

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive

power and wealth and wisdom and strength and

honor and glory and praise!”

Revelation 5

13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and

on earth and under the earth and on the sea,

and all that is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb

be praise and honor and glory and power,

for ever and ever!”

14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and

the elders fell down and worshiped.
