B. Reason
(1) Condition
Some Wing Anti−Ice System (WAIS) piccolo tubes have been reported to notperform as intended.
(2) Evidence
Some WAIS piccolo tubes were manufactured with deviations from theengineering drawings which can have an impact on the system performance.
(3) Objective/Benefit
This service bulletin gives the procedure to replace some possible defectivepiccolo tubes located in slat number 1 and/or in slat number 3, left and rightsides.
C. Description
For Aircraft 10166, 10186, 10296, 10327, 15099, 15102, 15144, 15201, and 15212
NOTE: If necessary, it is permitted to do one part at time.
PART A − Replacement of WAIS Piccolo Duct in Slat Number 1, Left Side
In the left side slat number 1, a WAIS duct is removed and discarded. A new WAISduct is installed. An operational test is done.
PART B − Replacement of WAIS Piccolo Duct in Slat Number 1, Right Side
In the right side slat number 1, a WAIS duct is removed and discarded. A newWAIS duct is installed. An operational test is done.
PART C − Replacement of WAIS Piccolo Duct in Slat Number 3, Left Side
In the left side slat number 3, a WAIS duct is removed and discarded. A new WAISduct is installed. An operational test is done.
PART D − Replacement of WAIS Piccolo Duct in Slat Number 3, Right Side
In the right side slat number 3, a WAIS duct is removed and discarded. A newWAIS duct is installed. An operational test is done.

PART J − Inspection of a WAIS Piccolo Duct in Slat Number 3, Left Side
In the left side slat number 3, a WAIS duct is inspected for part number and serialnumber. If the WAIS duct part number and serial number agrees with the list in theservice bulletin, the WAIS duct is removed and replaced. An operational test isdone.
If the WAIS duct part number and serial number is not listed, BombardierEngineering is contacted for further disposition.
For Aircraft 15453
PART K − Inspection of WAIS Piccolo Duct in Slat Number 3, Right Side
In the right side slat number 3, a WAIS duct is inspected for part number and serialnumber. If the WAIS duct part number and serial number agrees with the list in theservice bulletin, the WAIS duct is removed and replaced. An operational test isdone.
If the WAIS duct part number and serial number is not listed, BombardierEngineering is contacted for further disposition.

D. Compliance
Recommended service bulletin.
For all Aircraft
Bombardier recommends that this service bulletin be done within 8800 flight hoursfrom the initial release date of this service bulletin, unless otherwise directed by theairworthiness authority of the operator.
NOTE: If it is not possible to complete all the instructions in this service bulletinbecause of the configuration of the aircraft, speak with a representativeof Bombardier in the CRC at 1−844−272−2720 (1−844−CRC−CRC0)or 1−514−855−8500 or e-mail at [email protected] foranalysis and to get an approved disposition to complete this servicebulletin.
This service bulletin does not affect Airworthiness Limitations (AWLs) or DamageTolerance Inspections (DTIs).
E. Approval
The technical content of this service bulletin has been approved under the authorityof the TCCA Design Approval Organization No: DAO #93−Q−02.
F. Manpower
The man-hours given below are estimates for direct labor done by an experiencedcrew on an aircraft prepared for maintenance.
These estimates do not include the time necessary for:
−Administrative functions such as planning, liaising, familiarization, and report writing.
−Non-productive elapsed time such as rest time, having meals, and crew shiftchanges.
−Elapsed time such as for paint to dry, sealant to cure, and fuel tank venting.
−Preparation for modification (unless specified in the AccomplishmentInstructions) such as cleaning and getting parts, tools, consumables, andground equipment.
−Quality assurance inspections, troubleshooting and/or correction ofdiscrepancies found when a task is done.
−All other activities that are not considered by Bombardier as directly related to theaccomplishment of this procedure.

(2) Remove the piccolo duct (1) from the left side slat number 1 (refer to AMM30−11−08−000−801).
(3) Install a new piccolo duct (2) as follows:
(a) Make sure the new piccolo duct (2) has the same part number(GG670−80603−5) as the piccolo duct that was removed.
(b) Make sure that the new piccolo duct (2) has a serial number of 1158 orhigher.
(c) Record the information of the piccolo ducts (1) and (2) in the attachedWAIS PICCOLO DUCT REPLACEMENT INFORMATION FORM ofAppendix A of this service bulletin.
(d) Install the new piccolo duct (2) in the left side slat number 1 (refer toAMM 30−11−08−400−801).
(e) Discard the piccolo duct (1).

(2) Remove the piccolo duct (3) from the right side slat number 3 (refer to AMM30−11−08−000−801).
(3) Install a new piccolo duct (4) as follows:
(a) Make sure the new piccolo duct (4) has the same part number(GG670−80604−8) as the piccolo duct that was removed.
(b) Make sure that the new piccolo duct (4) has a serial number of 0364 orhigher.
(c) Record the information of the piccolo ducts (3) and (4) in the attachedWAIS PICCOLO DUCT REPLACEMENT INFORMATION FORM inSection 3.D. of this service bulletin.
(d) Install the new piccolo duct (4) in the right side slat number 3 (refer toAMM 30−11−08−400−801).
(e) Discard the piccolo duct (3).

(b) Make sure that the new piccolo duct (2) has a serial number of 1135 orhigher.
(c) Record the information of the piccolo ducts (1) and (2) in the attachedWAIS PICCOLO DUCT REPLACEMENT INFORMATION FORM ofAppendix A of this service bulletin.
(d) Install the new piccolo duct (2) in the right side slat number 1 (refer toAMM 30−11−08−400−801).
(e) Discard the piccolo duct (1).

(b) If the piccolo duct (1) has the part number GG670−80604−7 with aserial number of 0231, 0239, 0240, 0241, 0242, 0243, 0244, 0245, 0246,0247, 0248, 0249, 0250, 0251, 0253, 0255, 0256, or 0257 then install anew piccolo duct (2) as follows:
1 Remove the piccolo duct (1) from the left side slat 3 (refer to AMM30−11−08−400−801).
2 Install a new piccolo duct (2) as follows:
a Make sure the new piccolo duct (2) has the same partnumber (GG670−80604−7) as the piccolo duct that wasremoved.
b Make sure that the new piccolo duct (2) has a serial number0329 or higher.
c Record the information of the piccolo ducts (1) and (2) in theattached WAIS PICCOLO DUCT REPLACEMENTINFORMATION FORM of Appendix A of this service bulletin.

This recommendation is to give a safe work area andto minimize possible damage to surrounding aircraft parts. Alternativesteps can be used at the operator discretion.
(1) Make sure that the aircraft is in standard configuration for maintenance(refer to AMM 12−00−00−867−801).

(2) Do an inspection of the right side piccolo duct (1) identification plate asfollows:
(a) On the right side slat number 3, open access panel 632AZ to get accessto the piccolo duct (1) identification plate (refer to AMM57−42−32−000−803).
(b) If the piccolo duct (1) has the part number GG670−80604−8 with aserial number of 0319, then install a new piccolo duct (2) as follows:
1 Remove the piccolo duct (1) from the right side slat 3 (refer to AMM30−11−08−000−801).
2 Install a new piccolo duct (2) as follows:
a Make sure the new piccolo duct (2) has the same partnumber (GG670−80604−8) as the piccolo duct that wasremoved.
b Make sure that the new piccolo duct (2) has a serial number0364 or higher.
c Record the information of the piccolo ducts (1) and (2) in theattached WAIS PICCOLO DUCT REPLACEMENTINFORMATION FORM of Appendix A of this service bulletin.
d Install the new piccolo duct (2) in the right side slat 3 (refer toAMM 30−11−08−400−801).
e Discard the piccolo duct (1).
(c) If the piccolo duct (1) has part number GG670−80604−8 but does nothave serial number 0319 then contact a representative of Bombardier inthe CRC at 1−844−272−2720 (1−844−CRC−CRC0) or1−514−855−8500 or e-mail at [email protected] for furtherdisposition.
