Service Bulletin SB145
PM Spacer replacing the Tinnerman Fastener on the Professional Jigsaws.
All units returned for repair must have the Tinnerman Fastener replaced.
The old Tinnerman Fastener ( 398714-00 ) has now been replaced with a new Powder Metal Spacer (609364-00) from Date Code 200242.
This bulletin shows the procedure of fitting and removing the new Spacer. Two pieces of tooling will be available to help with this operation 559635-99 Push on Tool and 559636-99 Puller.
One is used to push the spacer on and has been designed to give a measured clearance for the Cam plate. The second piece of tooling is a special puller used to remove the Spacer.

Fit new Spacer.
First, remove old Tinnerman Fastener if fitted.
Place new Spacer on pin.
Use Service Tooling 559635-99 to push the
spacer onto it limit.
Make sure Spacer is fitted correctly.
Removal of New Spacer
Make sure pin is in this position.
Cam Plate in this position.
Make sure pin is fully retracted before using puller559636-99.
Fit puller into this position first.
Slide into position over Spacer making sure the legs are located under the Cam Plate.
Wind threaded part of puller down until contact with pin.
Continue to wind the threaded part of puller until the Cam Plate and Spacer are removed.
