Foreword: This is to announce new service parts information, diagnosis procedure and replacement procedure of Suction Control Valve.

1. Content There is a possibility that Fuel flow produces cavitation erosion on the surface of Suction Control Valve (SCV) needle. Negative pressure peels plating film on the surface of SCV needle. The peeled plating film interferes with the movement of the high pressure fuel supply pump. It causes engine stall, rough idle or smoke exhaustion. In this case, you can replace only SCV to solve it. Therefore, we revise “Diagnostic Procedure without Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)” for diesel engine in Service Manual and set up SCV as service part.
