PTC Technology Operations Philosophy
• Centralized network and services management as a company strategy from the very beginning i.e. September 1996
• Centralized supervision 24/7 from the single Technology Operations Center (TOC) in Warsaw– The responsibility to detect and clear network/service problems
• Centralized communication with Customer Care– Network related customer complaints are forwarded to TOC– TOC informs about network/services problems– TOC clears or addresses detected problems to relevant unit
• Centralized configuration changes through management systems (control, data build & synchronization)– network planning requests parameter changes by means of Work
Orders (WO)

What Does The Classic ResourceInventory Mean for Mobile Operator?
• Simple answer: the single source of information about WHAT & WHERE that leads to answer HOW effectively execute FCAPSrelated processes– F (fault) – operator needs to now WHAT is the source of the
network event and WHERE the object is located to quicken fault clearance actions
– C (configuration) – operator needs to now WHAT is the specific infrastructure resource configuration and HOW it can be changed (reconfigured, expanded, decreased, relocated)
– A (accounting, allocation) – operator needs to know WHAT is the capability of the infrastructure to properly bill delivered services
– P (performance) – operator needs to know WHAT is the infrastructure performance and HOW it can be optimized
– S (security) - operator needs to know WHAT & WHERE to physically and logically secure it

PTC Inventory Evolution Cont.
• Introduction of Transmission Data Repository (TDR) as the extension of network resource inventory– Trigger: countrywide
SDH backbone roll-out– Physical Layer first
(DDFs, ODFs, physical lines, radio)
– Data inventory (from many distributed sources, methodically controlled)
