Rough-In Guidelines for Contractors, Builders & HomeownersSOFTENERS • Provide a standard water softener plumbing loop in mechanical room at a location where softener will be placed • Provide check valve(s) and expansion tank as required by new home construction code • Bypass outside hose bibs/irrigation system • Bypass kitchen cold line (unless customer has purchased a reverse osmosis drinking water system) • Plumb in a stand pipe drain for softener • Electricity not required

DECHLORINATORS • If installed without a softener: provide a standard water softener plumbing loop in mechanical room • If installed with a softener: no additional rough-ins required • OPTIONAL installation with a softener, but without a reverse osmosis drinking water system: run independent kitchen cold line (and any other drinking water lines) to allow for hookup to dechlorinator only. This setup provides chlorine-free drinking water locations. • Electricity not required

DRINKING WATER SYSTEMS • One inch hole in countertop to be drilled by countertop supplier • All lines to be connected to the drinking water system must terminate where the drinking water system is to be installed • Standard installation is under the kitchen sink, however some people prefer equipment to be installed in their mechanical room. This needs to be confirmed with customer before rough-in proceeds • Any lines running to extra faucet or fridge locations should be 1/2” pex to ensure high flow from system
