@Table - Invest in YourselfMake this your year to work ON your business

@Table is your invitation to take a structured look at your past and current business needs and goals for the future. Sysco wants to take a major role in your business’ success.

As a foodservice professional, running a successful establishment often means managing from “the trenches”. Unexpected changes in business can take our focus away from planning and forecasting and put us on-the-line just to maintain operations. We invite you to take a professional holiday from your day-to-day activities and spend some time with Sysco working ON your business rather than IN your business.

Your visit to Sysco will begin with a tour of our warehouse. You’ll see our systems in action and gain an understanding of food chain preservation. You’ll be able to see a varied array of produce items and other products that are not samples, they are ready to ship.

Next, we’ll be on to one of our Test Kitchens for a personalized culinary presentation for your operation only. We’ll see and taste targeted items of your choosing. Brand comparisons, yield tests, menu analysis...it’s all here. We’ll explore new ways of producing your cuisine that can impact your sales and bottom line; always focusing on improving quality and guest delight. We’ll look at ways to insure your menu is working for you and driving the sales you expect.

Finally, we will discuss your operation from a business perspective. Menu development, staff training, facility maintenance, marketing, social media management, Inventory control, and a host of vendor partners that can assist you in increasing profitability. Our iCARE partners are available to you at your convenience. At Sysco, we appreciate your business and desire to grow with you. We value your time. We will work quickly and efficiently to deliver the true product that every operator wants: Net. Increased sales for your staff, increased value and guest experience, all will lead to increased net profit to your bottom line. All it takes is a small amount of your time.

Contact your Marketing Associate to make you reservation @Table today. Your business will thank you.

Imports and Specialty Foods

The popularity of imported foods has been steadily rising as more Americans develop a taste for the unique flavors and cuisine of other cultures and regions. Today some of the most popular food imports include fish, shellfish, nuts, fruits, vegetables and red meats. Yet the need for a differentiated product mix is only one of the engines driving an increased interest in imported foods. The seasonal availability of produce means that as certain items go out of season in one region, they enter peak season in another. This allows for a constant, consistent supply at all times of year. Global sourcing also means that inconsistent crop conditions, seasonal variations and catastrophic events have less of an impact on price and availability. Here at Sysco Metro New York, we are a direct importer of the finest specialty products in the world. The discriminating chef can choose between a vast array of imported cheeses from Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, Germany, Great Britian and Holland to name just a few. We import the finest in French Fruit Purees, Italian Specialty Salads and Belgium Pastry shells. Our selection of Chocolates from Switzerland, Belgium and South America puts smiles on the faces of Pastry Chefs throughout the metropolitan New York area. In addition, we import pastries, oils, seafood, vegetables, spices and much, much more.

When it comes to importing the finest products, Sysco Metro New York makes a world of difference.

Sysco Metro NY Brings you the World

The Portico DifferenceWhen quality and integrity are expected but not enforced, experience and leadership are your best bets to hedge the risks. That’s when the Portico difference matters. Through the unsurpassed standards of Sysco Quality Assurance, you’re guaranteed reliability and consistency. Here are a few of our safety and integrity measures that make Sysco and Portico the best choice in seafood:

> Point Source Inspection Program (PSIP) conducted by domestic field specialists with physical plant audits performed by Sysco personnel at every source point> Traceability back to the point of origin for optimal accountability

> Metal detection for hooks and other debris for additional assurance and safety at all plants

> Product quality testing above and beyond hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP)

> Written specifications on file for all Portico products

> Proper species, regulatory, ingredient and nutritional labeling, including the use of true product names according to the FDA and U.S. Department of Commerce

> Guaranteed net weight, count, grades and proper use of additives

With these additional, self-imposed measures, Portico provides oversight that is not typical in the industry. Our high standards allow for consistency and quality, which translates into value and more importantly, trust for our valued customers. Sustainability: Today’s Catch, Tomorrow’s Supply

Sustainability has become a hot topic in the food industry in recent years, and it isn’t limited to the farms and fields. “Sustainable seafood” refers to the process of fresh, high-quality seafood to our markets, restaurants and dinner tables in a manner that protects resources and maintains natural habitats. Sysco carefully monitors our fish and seafood suppliers on issues including species control, weight limits and harvesting and handling protocols.

We also partner with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s leading global conservation organization, on the complex issues related to seafood sustainability. It is our hope to steadfastly remain at the forefront of developing strategies for the responsible sourcing of wild seafood products through sustainable buying practices and standards.

It’s Not Just About Fish! It’s about people. It’s about sustainability. It’s about the future. It’s about commitment.
