In the lower level. We hope you can join us.
Welcome Parishioners and Visitors to Our Lady of the Mountains Parish. We are very happy to have you joining us for the celebration of the Eucharist. Today’s Gospel is about a clever steward. He is about to be fired and foreseeing a bleak future ahead, he entices his master’s debtors into a scheme to defraud his master. He is confident that, having accepted his proposal, they will take good care of him after he has been fired. The point of the parable is this: if worldly people like this manager can handle their money in such a way that it enhances their future in this life, why can’t good people so handle money that it enhances their future in the next. Money does not necessarily endanger our salvation. If use rightly, it can be a help toward salvation. Today’s parable reminds us that God has put into our lives a tremendous capacity to work and to sacrifice to achieve great goals. It also reminds us that no one has a greater goal to work and to sacrifice than we Christians. If worldly people are capable of making great sacrifices for worldly goals, how much more are we Christians capable of making even greater sacrifices for Jesus Christ and for God’s Kingdom. You and I have the capacity to do great things for Christ and for God’s Kingdom. Have a blessed week. Fr. Joseph Thai Cao Pastor

AN ELECTION PRAYER TO MARY
O Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, at
this most critical time, we entrust the United States
of America to your loving care.
Most Holy Mother, we beg you to reclaim this land
for the glory of your Son. Overwhelmed with the
burden of the sins of our nation, we cry to you from
the depths of our hearts and seek refuge in your
motherly protection.
Look down with mercy upon us and touch the hearts
of our people. Open our minds to the great worth of
human life and to the responsibilities that
accompany human freedom.
Free us from the falsehoods that lead to the evil of
abortion and threaten the sanctity of family life.
Grant our country the wisdom to proclaim that God’s
law is the foundation on which this nation was
founded, and that He alone is the True Source of
our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of
happiness.
O Merciful Mother, give us the courage to reject the
culture of death and the strength to build a new
Culture of Life.

RESTORED ORDER
As you may have heard, Archbishop Aquila is restoring the
sacraments of initiation to their original order in the
Archdiocese of Denver. In the coming years, the sacrament of
Confirmation will be received starting in third grade during the
same liturgy as First Holy Communion.
In preparation for the Archdiocese's implementation of
Restored Order, all 6th-12th graders enrolled in our parish
religious education program will receive the sacrament of
Confirmation in the Fall of 2017. There will be separate classes
for 6-8th grade and 9-12th grade. Also, in the spring of 2017,
second graders will receive the sacraments of First
Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
With the re-ordering of sacraments, our parish has developed
our own re-ordering schedule, ultimately being in full
compliance by 2020. Below is the schedule for these
sacraments at our parish:
Spring of 2017 : 2nd Grade- Reconciliation & 1st Communion
Fall 2017: Confirmation (6th-12th)
Spring of 2018: 2nd Grade- Reconciliation/1st Communion
4th, 5th & 6th Grade-Confirmation
Winter/Spring of 2019: 2nd Grade- Reconciliation (January)
3rd & 4th Grade - Confirmation
Spring of 2020 Full Restored order: 2nd grade -Reconciliation
3rd grade- Confirmation & Eucharist
If you have questions or concerns please contact either Sharon
Brubaker for 6-12 grade or Beth Miller for K-5th grade.
To learn more about why Archbishop Aquila is restoring the
order of the sacraments of initiation, visit the Archdiocese of
Denver website page, Saints Among Us, where you will find
the Archbishop’s letter, his teleconference, videos of his talks
and other documents.
