What does a standard Truckcare service inspection include?

to enSure breakdownS are kept to a MiniMuM, our engineer(S) will carry out the following taSkS aS Standard (if applicable):

• Carry out a safety functionality inspection to ensure safe operation in line with PUWER 1998 & LOLER 1998 legislation

• Replace the engine oil and required filters

• Check and adjust both brake and steering operation

• Measure chain and fork wear

• Check all fluid levels

• Lubricate all chains channels and grease points

• Check electric motors, control panel and traction battery

All works will be recorded on a detailed inspection report which complies with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER 98) and Briggs Equipment will submit an estimate prior to carrying out any necessary repairs.

Keeping the wheels of your equipment turning

Knowing when to replace tyres is a key decision that can have a major impact on the profitability and efficiency of your operation. We supply Pit Stop Line tyres for forklift trucks from Trelleborg. Operators and fleet managers alike can now identify with 100% accuracy when tyres need replacing.

This is due to a visible orange band that appears on the surface as the tyres wear down, indicating they have 100 hours of life remaining. As such, early tyre replacement is avoided, which can lead to forklifts needlessly taken out of service, increased downtime and significantly higher costs.

A Thorough Examination for forklift trucks and other lifting equipment is roughly equivalent to an MOT for cars. This statutory check is to ensure that the mechanical parts of your forklift are in safe working order at the time of servicing.
