ChildServe’s inpatient and outpatientrehabilitation services are CARF-accredited in both pediatrics andbrain injury specialties. Carrie’s leadership role and responsibilitiesinclude ensuring clinical quality, developing best practices andprotocols,measuringclinicaloutcomesandcoordinatingChildServe’sClinicalLearningSystem.

Thispresentationwillhighlightthesignificanceofpediatricconcussions,discussthecharacteristicsof concussions, and outline the systematic management of concussions, emphasizing thecollaborative practice of a team approach as best practice for concussion care.Wewill outlineroles and responsibilities of each team member within the system of care for children withconcussion, using and explaining the REAP program as a model. The course will address theimportanceofalignmentandcollaborativeprocessesbetweenthosesystemswhicharecriticaltothechild’ssuccessduringthereturntolearnandreturntoplayprocesses.
