Divine Saviour 10AM| April 9, 2017 Entrance: “THE KING OF GLORY” Refrain: The King of Glory comes, the nation rejoices. Open the gates before Him, lift up your voices. 1. Who is the King of Glory? How shall we call Him? He is Emmanuel, the promise of ages. (refrain) 2. In all of Galilee, in city or village, he goes among His people, curing their illness. (refrain) 3. Sing then of David's Son, our Savior and Brother, in all of Galilee was never another. (refrain) 4. He gave his life for us, the pledge of salvation. He took upon himself the sins of the nation. (refrain)

Psalm: “MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU ABANDONED ME?”

Acclamation: Glory to you – O word of God – Lord Jesus Christ

Presentation: “WERE YOU THERE?” 1. Were you there when they crucified my Lord? Where you there when they crucified my Lord? Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, trem-

ble, tremble. Were you there when they crucified my Lord? 2. Were you there when they nailed him to the tree? Where you there when they nailed him to the tree? Oh, sometimes it causes me to trem-

ble, tremble, tremble. Were you there when they nailed him to the tree? 3. Were you there when they pierced him in the side? Were you there when they pierced him in the side? Oh, sometimes it causes me to trem-

ble, tremble, tremble. Were you there when they pierced him in the side? Communion: “REMEMBRANCE” 1. Oh, how could it be that my God would welcome me into this mystery. Say take this bread, take this wine, now the simple made divine for any

to receive. Refrain: By Your mercy, we come to Your table. By Your grace, You are making us faithful. Lord, we remember You, and re-

membrance leads us to worship. And as we worship You. Our worship leads to communion. We respond to Your invitation, we remember You.

2. See His body, His blood, know that He has overcome every trial we will face. None too lost to be saved, none too broken or ashamed, all are welcome in this place.

“JESUS THE LORD” Jesus …. Jesus. Let all creation bend the knee to the Lord.

1. In Him we live, we move and have our being; in Him the Christ, in Him the King! Jesus the Lord. 2. Though Son, He did not cling to Godliness, but emptied Himself, became a slave! Jesus the Lord. 3. He lived obediently His Father's will accepting His death, death on a cross!

Jesus the Lord. “VIA DOLOROSA”

One gift our Palm Sunday worship offers is the reminder that no barrier exists between us and God. Jesus knows us, treasures us,

and saves us, no matter the abuse or hatred we have endured or the sins we have committed. Though Jesus is blameless, he accepts punishment for us. Our readings today invite us to imagine our-selves in any of the situations described, and know that our Lord has also been in that place. Isaiah mentions someone who is well spoken as well as someone who is weary, abused, and discouraged. Philippi-ans highlights the two natures of Jesus Christ: the human, which we know intimately, and the divine, which makes Jesus uniquely worthy of adoration and praise. The Gospel invites us to imagine ourselves as any of the characters we see: corrupt or pure, doubting or faith-ful, abusive or suffering. Our Lord knows all these experiences and offers salvation.
