EMCO Building is a specialist Commercial and Industrial building company which has been operatingin WA since 1986. We have built our company on the strong foundations of quality, service andreputation.

The EMCO Building experience is backed up by our highly skilled and professionally qualifiedmanagement team, which covers the full spectrum of professions from Engineering through QuantitySurveying, Estimating, Contract Management, Site Management, Marketing, Accounting etc.

EMCO Building are a ‘Category 5 Complex’ registered builder under the State Governments pre-registration scheme which is the highest categorization a builder can attain, and pre-qualifies us totender on all Government building works with a value up to $50 Million.

EMCO Building is accredited under both AS4801 and the Federal OHS Accreditation Scheme.

EMCO Building complies with the Australian Government Implementation Guidelines for theNational Code of Practice for the Construction Industry 2009.

EMCO Building are currently working with an external Quality Advisor to achieve ISO9001:2015Quality Management Systems and ISO14001:2015 Environmental.

EMCO Building has been operating successfully for over 30 years. EMCO Building is owned andoperated by Director John Ripp, who is very active in the company on a daily basis. EMCO Buildingtrade profitably and have ample financial resources to complete the proposed project. We will be ableto fulfil our commitments from our own resources, without the need for an overdraft. BP REFINERY - HOT WORKS WORKSHOPNew Hot Works Industrial Maintenance Workshop and external Roads

BP REFINERY – CENTROL CONTROL BUILDINGSingle storey concrete structure extension of the existing central control building at BP. A large volumeof concrete was used for the raft & the roof. The walls were interlocking precast panels with structuralsteel bracing. Access constraints at BP and the need to have timely inductions and approval of allhazardous materials used at site was the main difficulty in coordinating this project.

SUBIACO WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT

Construction of main Pumping station for the Western Suburbs, which included the new treatmentbuilding, below ground facility, water storage basins and the full electrical and mechanical packages.

DAWESVILLE SCREEN FENCING

Major Road Infrastructure Upgrade: Noise Attenuation and Road upgrade works to Dawesville BypassThe Works comprise the construction of screen fences adjacent the recently constructed section ofthe Perth Bunbury Highway (known as Dawesville Deviation Section) in the City of Mandurah. Thescreen fences consist of reinforced concrete footings, concrete filled limestone blockwork piers.Limestone blockwork piers, limestone blockwork walls and CCA treated pine lap timber panelling withsteel walers.

CARNARVON POLICE AND JUSTICE CENTRE

Completed February 2015, the New Courts, Police, Community and Youth Justice Services project hasbeen designed in consultation with the local Community and represented through a CommunityReference Group. Located on the corner of Robinson Street and Babbage Island Road it includes theconstruction of Courts, Police Station, Community and Youth Justice Services into one facility. Thenew complex offers Separate entries for the Courthouse, Police Station and Community JusticeServices, Court Registry Area, two courtrooms - Jury Courtroom and Magistrates Courtroom, juryassembly and deliberation areas, mediation and pre-trial conference facilities, facilities for victims ofcrime, separated spaces for witnesses and vulnerable court users, including children, outdoorcourtyard spaces - public and secured and ample onsite parking.

ONE STEEL FACTORY

A large purpose built steel framed production facility for One Steel. The factory is 12.6m high with aninternal area of 7500m2 and an additional 7000m2 of external apron. The concrete floor was laid tovery exacting tolerances made more complex by the large number of service channels and three deepequipment pits that had to be formed in the slab. In addition to the main facility a separate 240m2office development was constructed along with associated parking and facilities.

CSIRO SUPPORT FACILITY

Construction of a support facility for the MRO located in Geraldton that will provide remote operationsfacilities for the ASKAP telescope, as well as working accommodation for technical, maintenance andresearch staff. Connectivity to the ASKAP will be via optical fibre which will terminate within the MSFand enable remote monitoring, control and analysis.The MSF comprises a single building housing a reception area, office space, operations room,kitchenette, computer room, fibre termination area, electronic and RF workshops, mechanicalworkshop and loading dock, store room, ablutions, first aid room and a plant room.External works include car and bicycle parking, an access roadway, civil works including drainage andlandscaping.

Supply, installation and commissioning of the civil works for Western Energy Power Station includingfuel loading area, liquid fuel tank bund an processing areas, oily water separator excavation, waste oilarea, water treatment plant building foundations and plinths, waste water area, fire water plinths,raw water tank ring beam, emergency diesel generator foundation, demin water slab foundation, gasturbine 1 & 2 foundation, HV switchyard and transformer foundations and ITP/ITRS/Commissioning.

NANNUP REGIONAL HOSPITAL

A major refit and extension of the existing Hospital doubled the existing facilities size. All work had tobe carried out while the hospital remained fully operational. This required careful planning andattention to detail as well as a high level of quality and health and Safety controls.

John has an extensive background in the managementof engineering and project oriented companies. Heholds an Assoc. Mech. Eng., B. Commerce, is a C.P.Eng. and is a member of the Institution of Engineers,Australia. He is also a member of the College ofMechanical Engineers. He has over 30 years ofexperience in construction, mechanical services anddirect management and control of businesses both inAustralia and the USA.

John focuses on the administration and financialmanagement of the business.

Ron Keogh – CEO

Ron has been with EMCO Building since February 2000initially as Business Development Manager before beingpromoted to General Manager in 2008 and most recently toCEO. Ron has many year’s management experience inspecialist construction companies including a number ofyears with a large UK precast concrete producer.Ron holds an Honor’s Degree in Economics, A Post GraduateDiploma in International Marketing, and AdvancedCertificate from the Institute of Management.Ron’s primary focus is on developing and implementingstrategies for business growth to meet our stated businessobjectives as well as the general management of thebusiness.
