Expressions of Interest - Community of Practice for Peer/Lived Experience Workers During 2018 members of the Peer Participation in Mental Health Services (PPIMS) Network explored the idea of establishing some Communities of Practice (CoP) and in particular one for Peer (Lived Experience) Workers in the region. The main reasons were that many peer workers do not have access to Peer Supervision as well as wanting to have an opportunity for some peer reflection and group supervision with other peers. “A Community of Practice is a group of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do, and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly. It is through the process of sharing information and experiences with the group that members learn from each other, and have an opportunity to develop personally and professionally (Lave & Wenger 1991).” With the support from Brook RED and coordinated by the PPIMS Network, this Community of Practice will continue during 2019-20. CoP’s for Peer Workers are planned commencing in August 2019 for those employed and/or volunteering in an identified Peer/Lived Experience role in the region. We are now calling for Expressions of Interest to participate in this CoP (limited places). When: Monday 25 th May 11am-12:30pm Wednesday 17 th June 2020 How: To apply please email [email protected] with subject heading “CoP Peer Work” and provide the following information Name, contact phone and email
