In 2014 Crater Lake will generate $36-40 million in travel related spending in gateway community economies.

During the October 2013 federal shutdown it is estimated that there were 7.8 million fewer park visitors across the US which resulted in a $414 million loss to local businesses.

The four main national park sites in Oregon will generate about 875,000 visits and $59 million in local spending
