The Rite Of Christian Initiation For Adults (RCIA) process, is open to all who want to become a member of our Catholic Church. Who is eligible to participate in the RCIA process?
• Children 7 years and older who have not been baptized.
• Adults 16-18 years and older who have not been baptized nor received Christian initiation sacraments such as First Communion or Confirmation.

El proceso de Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos (RICA) es un proceso que abre sus puertas a quienes deseen ser parte de nuestra Iglesia Católica. ¿Quiénes pueden participar? This weekend, two of our brothers will be ordained as Priests of Jesus Christ at the hands of Bishop McManus. This is a picture from their ordination as Deacons last year. Deacon Carlos Francisco Ardila will celebrate his first Masses at 10am and noontime today. Carlos was born in Columbia in 1983 and came to the Diocese of Worcester three years ago. Many of you will remember Carlos from his wonderful ministry here at the Cathedral, including in the first days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Deacon José Fernando Carvajal was also born in Colombia, where he taught English for many years. He came to the Diocese in 2015 and, like Deacon Ardila, has studied at St. Mary’s Seminary & University in
Baltimore. Among the questions Bishop McManus asked these men before he ordained them were the following, which we office for your meditation on who a priest is called to be for the people of God in the Church in Worcester. Do you resolve, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to discharge without fail the office of Priesthood in the presbyteral rank, as worthy fellow workers with the Order of Bishops in caring for the Lord’s flock? Do you resolve to exercise the ministry of the word worthily and wisely, preaching the Gospel and teaching the Catholic faith? Do you resolve to implore with us God’s mercy upon the people entrusted to your care by
observing the command to pray without ceasing? Do you resolve to be united more closely every day to Christ the High Priest, who offered himself for us to the Father as a pure Sacrifice, and with him to consecrate yourselves to God for the salvation of all?

Este fin de semana, dos de nuestros hermanos serán ordenados como Sacerdotes de Jesucristo a manos del Obispo McManus.
El diácono Carlos Francisco Ardila celebrará sus primeras misas a las 10 de la mañana y al mediodía de hoy. Carlos nació en Columbia en 1983 y llegó a la Diócesis de Worcester hace
tres años.
Muchos de ustedes recordarán a Carlos de su maravilloso ministerio aquí en la Catedral, incluso en los primeros días de la pandemia de COVID-19. El diácono José Fernando Carvajal también nació en Colombia, donde enseñó inglés durante muchos años. Llegó a la
Diócesis en 2015 y, al igual que el Diácono Ardila, estudió en el Seminario y Universidad St. Mary en Baltimore.
Entre las preguntas que el obispo McManus les hizo a estos hombres antes de ordenarlos se encuentran las siguientes, que le pedimos que mediten sobre quién está llamado a ser un
sacerdote para el pueblo de Dios en la Iglesia de Worcester.
¿Decides, con la ayuda del Espíritu Santo, desempeñar sin falta el oficio del sacerdocio en el rango presbiteral, como dignos colaboradores de la Orden de los Obispos en el cuidado del rebaño del Señor?
¿Decides ejercer el ministerio de la palabra digna y sábiamente, predicando el Evangelio y
enseñando la fe católica?
