• The goal of all technology use at St. Gabriel’s Catholic School is to have a positive impact on the education of our students

HIGHLIGHTS THIS YEAR• No Face-Time or other video chatting
Apps
• No iMessage or other messaging/chat Apps
• Limited games allowed - use the iPad Game Request Form
• Deductible for damage is family’s responsibility
• Meraki Mobile Device Management / iPad can’t be connected to home computer

Welcome eSparker
Students will begin by taking a pre-test on the information they are
about to learn
Students will first see an instructional video. They can scroll
through the rest of the mission before they watch the clip.

Even though students can scroll through the mission, all other challenges will be locked until they return to
watch the first video.
After completing all activities, students
take a post-test on the material.

• Key finding:
• Grade 4 & 5 students overall showed at least twice the level of growth in their eSpark areas of focus when compared to their growth in areas where they did not use eSpark.

Suggestions for Home Use• All iPad use ties back to student’s classes
• We support whatever you feel is most appropriate for your home and family
• Clarity around expectations, rules and consequences
• Define where in the house the iPad can be used
• Define how long an iPad can be used
• We recommend frequent breaks!
Home Use Specifics• Additional Apps can be purchased with
parent/guardian approval, using a separate AppleID
• Some restrictions are set from our Mobile Device Management software
• Feel free to enable further restrictions (instructions are on the handout)
Web Filter• Using the SGCS web-filter is optional
• These settings will only work on your wi-fi network
• NO web-filter is perfect
• Limited technical support
