Orientation Day Ceremony for Freshers
Samalkha Group of Institutions has organized Orientation day Cere-
mony for newly admitted students on 19th August 2015. The ceremony
was aimed to acquaint the students with the institutional culture and
enable them to adjust in the college environment and life & to have the
feel that they belong to SGI & is a part of SGI family from this moment.
The ceremony was attended by gigantic audience which included fac-
ulty members, students. On this great day, members of SGI were thank-
ful to Mr. Rakesh Bawa (Senior Advisor, Coconnect.In), Mr. Pushkar
(Vice President, Sofcon Pvt. Ltd.) for making their presence as an
Hon’ble guests on this day and they were honoured & cherished by Sh.
Ajay Goyal (Chairman-SGI) and Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Goel (Director-SGI).
On this occasion, Dr. Sarita Goel (Member Executive, SGI), Mrs. Puja
Walia Mann (Dean, FOM), Dr. Parveen Bhatt (HOD, ASH), Mr. Amit
Verma (HOD, CSE), Mr. Vikas Uttreja (HOD, ECE & EEE), Mr. Arpan Man-
chanda (HOD, ME), Mr. Gaurav (HOD, CIVIL) and Mr. Debraj Mitra (HOD,
Aeronautical) and Faculty members were present to induce the stu-
dents for future.
Ms. Arpana (Assistant Professor, CSE) welcomed all the new entrants at
SGI by saying that they are having these 3 or 4 years to find their own
place @ SGI, where they belong & where their potential will lead them
to. With arrival of the guests, ceremony started with the lightening of
lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. The show started by a video
showing the campus & students were made aware about the different
departments & lab’s locations. The presentation was followed by the
blessful words of Chairman Sir, who believes in building a perception.
He said “Think about the concept /feel you have about yourself, your
family & community- what they are today? Your new ideas, new theo-
ries, new concepts & new dreams will lead them to a newer & a better
future.

This was my perception for the new technocrats sitting in front of me. You think why SGI? - as you
belong to SGI family now. Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Goel addressed the students and spread the message
of “Faith & Self-Believe” among the students. He inspired students to identify their true skills,
through his speech.
With the help of an Audio & Visual view, the students were also acquainted with the Importance of
Time Table, Library Rules & Membership Form, Syllabus Booklet/Book Bank/ERP-SMS/Online Web
Portal, Student Welfare Department, Anti-Ragging Cell by Ms. Reena Sharma (Assistant Professor,
ECE) and Mr. Hitesh (Assistant Professor, ECE). The students were introduced to all the key per-
sons of the Institute by Ms. Amita Rathi (Assistant Professor, MBA). All the HOD’s/Dean introduced
their respective departments & by telling theory/ideas they used in their departments.
The ceremony was carry forwarded by a group of MBA students (Anish, Deepak, Nishtha, Ritika,
Minni, Kirti) who told their one year journey at SGI by covering different aspects like training, mind
game, classroom discussions etc.. via a presentation “Life @ SGI”.
The guests also delivered & introduced new entrants with upcoming technologies and focused on
developing technological skills during their tenure of stay at SGI and then ceremony was followed
by a motivational story narrated by Ms. Umang (Assistant Professor, ECE).
“Aaashayain….. Ray of Hope” was embedded into the students by SGI Theme song which turned
the environment into the one full of positive vibes. The Ceremony was ended with vote of thanks by
Ms. Arpana (Assistant Professor, CSE).
The event was successfully organized by the great efforts of dedicated and potential members of
SGI.
