UOS Chesed Committee Widow 2 Widow Outreach

Your Chesed committee is starting a new program to offer support to widows in our community.

We’re seeking volunteers: Widows to make a phone call to the newly widowed

(Chas V’Shalom) to offer an information packet regarding helpful resources

Volunteers who can offer practical help and/or Instruction:

Simple household fixes, Basic financial skills, Basic computer skills, Move furniture, Other as needed

    For further information please contact:

Doreen Lerner: [email protected] Carol Liberman: [email protected]

We have a housing site that has been having quite a few fires and smoke-related

incidents due to the residents not knowing how to utilize the stovetop properly.

These are folks who have been homeless for many years and a lot of them do not

know how to cook. We are looking for a few volunteers to hold a cooking education

session (or a couple of sessions) at the housing site so the residents, the staff, and

the Fire Department can have a well-deserved break! If you choose to do this, you

would be integral in working with SEARCH staff and the housing site Team Lead and

case managers to plan, develop, and implement what makes the most sense and

would be the most helpful to the residents.

If you’re interested in volunteering for this project, please contact Doreen Lerner:
