DEDICATE A PRAYERBOOK TO A LOVED ONEOur High Holy Days prayerbooks, Mishkan HaNefesh, give meaning to the High Holy Days through updated translations, readings, and poetry, as well as easily accessible transliteration and liturgical innovations. You can honor or remember a loved one by dedicating one or more of our two-volume sets of Mishkan HaNefesh with a tribute donation of $54 or more. Dedications will be placed in both volumes and your gift will be acknowledged in the Dateline bulletin.

BOOK OF REMEMBRANCEThroughout the world, Jews traditionally take time to remember their departed loved ones during the High Holy Days. At Congregation Temple Israel, we embrace this tradition by preparing an annual Book of Remembrance, which will be distributed to all who attend our Yizkor (Memorial) service on Yom Kippur afternoon (Wednesday, September 19). It is customary to honor the memory of loved ones with tzedakah (a charitable donation), which is traditionally given in multiples of $18 per person remembered, and is symbolic of chai (life).
You may include the names of any loved ones who you’re thinking about during this sacred time; they do not need to be Jewish or members of our Temple Israel community.
To honor a loved one in this year’s book, visit: WWW.TI-STL.ORG/REMEMBRANCEQuestions? Contact Melanie Thiede at 314-432-8050 or [email protected] RECEIVE PAYMENT BY FRIDAY, AUGUST 31 TO GUARANTEE INCLUSION IN THE 2018 BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE.
