PROLOGUEPROLOGUE
The world’s fastest hedgehogwhose supersonic speed is
second to none. He strivesto live according to his ownrules rather than for the
sake of heroism or duty. Untilnow, he’s been busy stoppingDr. Eggman’s preposterousambitions, but this time, he ismotivated more than ever totake on the alien invaders,Black Arms.
It’s that black hedgehog that shares the all too familiar sil-houette of Sonic... he’s Shadow the Hedgehog.
Some 50 years ago, this “Ultimate Life form” was theresult of the army’s secret research. With no records of whattranspired, his true character is shrouded in darkness andeven his own memory cannot serve as a key to unlock themystery; there is only emptiness...
“Who am I... and why can’t I remember anything?”
One day as Shadow sat trying to remember anything, hewas suddenly shrouded in darkness. Out of the skies camethe black creatures, calling themselves the Black Arms. Bytheir sheer numbers and power, they left a path of destruc-tion in their quest to overtake the world.
As Shadow looked on, the cities were engulfed in fire andexplosions as the Black Arms tattooed their presence in red...From the ashes arose their leader, Black Doom...
“Shadow... As you can see, the day of reckoning willsoon be here. Find the SEVEN Chaos Emeralds andbring them to me as promised.”
Perplexed by the dark figure who somehow knew him byname, Shadow was left wondering what clues Black Doomholds to his past and what was meant by “the day of reck-oning.” After a moment of silence, Shadow’s puzzledexpression quickly changed into that uncanny sneer... as herealized what he must do to recover his past.
“If he says he knows the truth about who I am...then like it or not, I have to believe him. The only wayI’m going to get the secrets to my past is to get thoseChaos Emeralds!”
Thus, the adventure of Shadow to uncover the mysteriesof his forgotten past unfolds. Once again, the chase for theChaos Emeralds intertwines with the full cast of Sonic andhis friends, including that mad genius, Dr. Eggman.
The black hedgehog whoresembles Sonic. With his pow-erful body, he can easily rivalSonic’s world class speed.Shadow was created as theUltimate Life form in a secretlab by Professor GeraldRobotnik. Everything elseabout Shadow’s past is a mys-tery. After risking his life tosave the planet with Sonic, hesuffers from amnesia, havingno memories of his past.
