As a part of School Nutrition’s “Taste of the World” promotion, students had the opportunity to try something new for lunch this week - curry chicken with brown rice. Flu Season This time of year is often referred to as “flu season.” Flu viruses tend to peak between December and March. Doctors at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta say flu season usually starts to peak in metro Atlanta right after the holidays in January. Typical symptoms of the flu include fever, cough, sore throat, running or stuffy nose, headache, muscle aches, and fatigue. If your child is sick, please keep him/her at home until their symptoms have improved and they have been fever free for 24 hours (without using fever reducing medication). For more information on the Flu Season 2018-2019, click here or visit www.cdc.gov/flu

Procedures for Visiting & Volunteering

For the 2018-2019 school year, all volunteers must complete the registration process again. The registration process can be found on the FCS District Website under Community/Partners & Volunteers or click here. Applicants should be prepared to

spend about 10-15 minutes for the training and application process. In accordance with State Law, all volunteers must be current with the Child Abuse Reporting Protocol Training before being allowed to volunteer in our schools. It is very important that volunteers enter their full legal name as it appears on their government issued ID.

Have a wonderful weekend!
