Answering Questions Intro The questions in the following slides are

very similar to the ones Mr. Bissell gave us. Write them down or just answer them out loud!

Answering Questions pt 1(Julius Caesar)

What do you think the purpose of Caesar's speech?

What do you think is in the will, based on what Mark Anthony has said?

Why does Mark Anthony send his servant? Why does he fear he will be hurt?

Why does Caesar make a reference to Olympus?

Tips (IMPORTANT!! ) The real trick to understanding Shakespeare

(at least to me) is to understand what the character feels. If you treat them like words on a paper, you're not going to get very far. Read it like a book, make it come to life with your imagination, and then you can see the motives, the tones, the feelings, and it all becomes easy.

Tips (IMPORTANT!! ) As a sorta-not-really-but-kinda-writer, I find it

great to add adjectives and tones right on. Transform the script into story format, and everything will be much easier. Example.

“Hence!” Caesar thundered, glaring down at the started townsmen. “Will thou lift up Olympus?”

“G-great Caesar...” Decius murmered somewhat weakly.

“Doth not Brutus bootless kneel?” Caesar sneered, lifting his head.

Tips (IMPORTANT!! ) ALWAYS REMEMBER THE DIFFERENCE

BETWEEN READING OUT AND COMING TO LIFE.
