8. SHEC-Training - Leadership
…if rules and tools are not followed or applied appropriately, ZERO tolerance is mandatory for staff members who do not like to listen and who are reluctant to understand (= “trouble makers”).
However, the other staff will be informed afterwards about the reasons and why the management decided to act that way in order to avoid any worriedness or confusion within the workforce.
Apart from their professional qualifications and skills, it is indispensable that our managers possess the social competency for leadership.
An environment of trust is vital
BUT…
Zero Tolerance
9. Conclusion
It is an art in explosives manufacturing, to accommodate an appropriate balance between theory and practice.
It is a matter of monitoring and disciplining, and sometimes there is no other way than sanctioning and practicing zero tolerance.
