Assessment tool for Birth 7 years of age 3. PR 2 Domain: Adaptive Subdomain: Personal Responsibility Behavior: The child understands that hot is dangerous. Materials: Item PR2 presentation cards showing a pot boiling on a stove and a burning match. Procedure: Place the two pictures on the table in front of the child and say, Look at these two pictures. This picture shows food cooking on a hot stove. The other one shows a match that is burning. It is right to touch the hot pan or the burning match? If the child answers, No say Why not? Acceptable correct responses: It is hot and it will burn. It will hurt me Ill Cry and need a bandage. It feels bad Scoring: 2 points Knows hot items should be avoided because they are dangerous 1 point Knows hot items should be avoided but is unable to state why 0 point thinks that it is okay to touch hot items. 8.
