SVT HistoryThe Ford Special Vehicle Team (SVT) wasestablished in 1991 to polish the Ford Ovalby creating low-volume, factory-producedvehicles designed for those select fewwhose idea of driving is a high-powered,passionate experience – not just a meansof getting from point A to point B.In a move to support this spiritedenthusiasm, Ford Motor Company carefullyintegrated the wide array of talent in thecompany into a small, cross-functionalgroup of engineers and product planners, housed together under one roof with acommon mission: to create vehiclesspecifically designed to meet the uniqueneeds and desires of the knowledgeabledriving enthusiast.More than 250,000 SVT vehicles wereproduced since the 1993 model year. Theseinclude the SVT Mustang Cobra and theCobra R, the SVT F-150 Lightning, the SVTContour, the SVT Focus, Ford GT, ShelbyGT500, GT500KR and the F-150 SVTRaptor.
Team RS HistoryTeamRS traces its roots back nearly 60years from the Lotus Ford Cortina and TwinCam Escorts of the mid 1960’s, throughthe first RS branded Escorts of the 1970’sto the founding of Special VehicleEngineering (SVE) in 1980. Through the1980s and 90s, SVE delivered a breadthof vehicles from exciting XR and RSbranded road going performance carsthrough homologation specials such asthe iconic Sierra Cosworth RS500. The firstST (Sport Technology) vehicle appearedin 1996 as the ST24 Mondeo. The firstcollaboration between Ford’s Europeanand North American performance teamsappeared in 2002 as the ST170 in Europeand SVT Focus in North America. In 2003,TeamRS replaced SVE in Europe asperformance car and motorsport personnelwere brought together as one team.TeamRS subsequently created the 2004Fiesta ST, 2005 Focus ST and 2009 FocusRS.
Ford PerformanceSVT and Team RS officially began workingtogether as one team in 2009. In 2015,these two teams, along with Ford Racing, were formally combined establishing FordPerformance as a single team responsiblefor all performance and racing orientedproducts and activities worldwide at FordMotor Company. The GT350 representsthe best of what Ford Performance has tooffer from around the globe. Your GT350vehicle has been designed and developedwith the four hallmarks of FordPerformance in mind: Performance,Substance, Exclusivity and Value. We areproud and passionate about what we do,and we are glad you have made us yourchoice.

INSTALLING CHILDRESTRAINTSRear Seat Delete (If Equipped)
WARNINGIn a crash, passengers who areunbelted are significantly more likelyto be seriously injured or killed. Do
not allow people to ride in any area of yourvehicle that is not equipped with seats andseatbelts. Be sure everyone in your vehicleis in a seat and using a seatbelt properly.
This is not a seating position. Persons orchild restraints cannot be placed in the rearof the vehicle with the rear seat deleteoption.
Vehicles Without Rear Seats
Once the child restraint has been installedusing the seatbelt, you can attach the toptether strap.Attach the tether strap only to theappropriate tether anchor as shown. Thetether strap may not work properly ifattached somewhere other than thecorrect tether anchor.Perform the following to attach a childrestraint to the tether anchor.Route the tether strap as follows:
For coupe without rear seats, route thetether strap through the inboard slot of thefront passenger seatback or route thetether strap over the top of the seat. Atether strap extension may be needed toreach the tether anchor.

Child Safety
If you install a child restraint and haveattached the top tether strap to the propertop tether anchor, do not tighten the tetherstrap enough to lift the child restraint offthe vehicle seat cushion when the child isseated in it. Keep the tether strap just snugwithout lifting the front of the childrestraint. Keeping the child restraint justtouching the vehicle seat gives the bestprotection in a severe crash.See the Child Safety chapter in yourOwner's Manual for more information.

MANUAL TRANSMISSION
Using the ClutchThe manual transmission has a starterinterlock that prevents cranking the engineunless the clutch pedal is fully pressed. To start the vehicle:1. Make sure the parking brake is fully set.2. Press the clutch pedal to the floor, then
put the gearshift lever in the neutralposition.
3. Start the engine, then press the brakepedal and release the parking brake.
4. Move the gearshift lever to first gear, then slowly release the clutch pedalwhile slowly pressing on theaccelerator.
Note: During each shift, the clutch pedalmust be fully pressed to the floor and theaccelerator fully released. Failure to followthis may cause increased shift efforts, prematurely wear transmissioncomponents, or cause gear clash or damageto the transmission. Make sure the floor matis properly positioned so it does not interferewith the full extension of the clutch pedal.
Note: If you attempt to shift when the drivewheels are spinning with a loss of traction,it is possible to cause damage to thetransmission. Do not attempt to shift whenthe drive wheels do not have traction.Do not drive with your foot resting on theclutch pedal or use the clutch pedal to holdyour vehicle at a standstill while waitingon a hill. These actions will reduce the lifeof the clutch.Your vehicle is equipped with a twin discclutch. Due to the high performance of thepowertrain, a certain amount of noise fromthe transmission is normal.
Clutch ProtectionYour vehicle is equipped with an electronicpowertrain feature to reduce clutchdamage. When excessive clutch slip isdetected at a high power level, thepowertrain control module will limit torqueto reduce damage to the clutch. Full poweris restored as soon as the clutch is fullyengaged. This feature is calibrated in a waythat does not interfere with normal drivingand does not impede maximumacceleration capability.

BREAKING-INYour vehicle requires a break-in period.Drive your new vehicle at least 100 mi(160 km) before performing extended wideopen throttle maneuvers and at least1,000 mi (1,600 km) before performanceor competition conditions.Note: Vary your speed frequently in orderto give the moving parts a chance to breakin.
Ground ClearanceSince ground clearance is reduced, usecaution when approaching curbs or curbstops from the front and rear as vehicledamage will occur. Additionally, whencrossing speed bumps or driveway curbs,Ford Performance recommendsapproaching at a 45 degree angle toreduce the risk of vehicle damage.Your vehicle carries the same warranty asother Ford models. Damage caused byaccidents, crashes or objects striking thevehicle (including driving through a carwash) or misuse of the vehicle, such asdriving over curbs, overloading or racing isnot covered under the new vehicle limitedwarranty. See the Warranty Guide forcomplete information.
DRIVING THROUGH WATERThe GT350 has aerodynamic devicesattached to the underbody designed tohelp control airflow for superiorperformance. Therefore, the driver mustbe especially careful to avoid drivingthrough deep or standing water. If drivingthrough deep or standing water isunavoidable, do not exceed 10 mph(16 km/h). Never drive through water that
is higher than the bottom of the wheelrims. Water may enter through the airintake due to the vacuum generated in theengine. Damage caused by the intake ofwater in the engine is not covered by thewarranty.

Maintenance
Note: For best results, coolantconcentration should be tested with arefractometer such as Rotunda tool300-ROB75240 available from your dealer.Ford does not recommend the use ofhydrometers or coolant test strips formeasuring coolant concentrations.Be sure to read and understandPrecautions in your Owner’s Manual. If thecoolant has not been checked at therecommended interval, the engine coolantreservoir may become low or empty. If thereservoir is low or empty, add coolant tothe reservoir. See Adding Engine Coolantin this chapter.Note: Automotive fluids are notinterchangeable. Do not use engine coolant, antifreeze or windshield washer fluid outsideof its specified function and vehicle location. For more information about engine coolant, see the Maintenance chapter of the Owner’sManual.
Adding Engine CoolantWARNINGS
Do not add coolant when the engineis hot. Steam and scalding liquidsreleased from a hot cooling system
can burn you badly. Also, you can beburned if you spill coolant on hot engineparts.
Do not put coolant in the windshieldwasher fluid container. If sprayed onthe windshield, coolant could make
it difficult to see through the windshield. To reduce the risk of personal injury, make sure the engine is cool beforeunscrewing the coolant pressure
relief cap. The cooling system is underpressure; steam and hot liquid can comeout forcefully when the cap is loosenedslightly.
Do not add coolant further than theMAX mark.
Note: Do not use stop leak pellets, coolingsystem sealants, or additives as they cancause damage to the engine cooling orheating systems. This damage would notbe covered under your vehicle’s warranty.Note: During normal vehicle operation, theengine coolant may change color fromorange to pink or light red. As long as theengine coolant is clear and uncontaminated, this color change does not indicate theengine coolant has degraded nor does itrequire the engine coolant to be drained, thesystem to be flushed, or the engine coolantto be replaced.• DO NOT MIX different colors or types
of coolant in your vehicle. Make surethe correct coolant is used. Mixing ofengine coolants may harm yourengine’s cooling system. The use of animproper coolant may harm engine andcooling system components and mayvoid the warranty.
• In case of emergency, a large amountof water without engine coolant maybe added in order to reach a vehicleservice location. In this instance, thecooling system must be drained, chemically cleaned with Motorcraft®Premium Cooling System Flush, andrefilled with prediluted coolant as soonas possible. Water alone (withoutengine coolant) can cause enginedamage from corrosion, overheatingor freezing.
Note: Do not use alcohol, methanol or brineor any engine coolants mixed with alcoholor methanol antifreeze (coolant). Alcoholand other liquids can cause engine damagefrom overheating or freezing.Note: Do not add extra inhibitors oradditives to the coolant. These can beharmful and compromise the corrosionprotection of the engine coolant.Unscrew the cap slowly. Any pressure willescape as you unscrew the cap.

Maintenance
Add prediluted engine coolant meeting theFord specification. See Capacities andSpecifications for more information.Whenever coolant has been added, thecoolant level in the coolant reservoirshould be checked the next few times youdrive the vehicle. If necessary, add enoughprediluted coolant to bring the coolantlevel to the proper level.
Coolant Refill ProcedureThe following procedure should be usedwhen refilling the cooling system after ithas been drained or become extremelylow.1. Remove the pressure relief cap from
the coolant reservoir as previouslyoutlined.
2. Slowly add prediluted coolant to thecoolant reservoir until the coolant levelis between the MIN and MAX marks onthe reservoir.
3. Reinstall the pressure relief cap.4. Start and idle the engine until the upper
radiator hose is warm (this indicatesthe thermostat is open and coolant isflowing through the entire system).
5. Shut the engine off and let it cool.6. Remove the pressure relief cap from
the coolant reservoir as previouslyoutlined.
7. Add prediluted coolant to the coolantreservoir until the coolant level isbetween the MIN and MAX marks onthe reservoir.
8. Reinstall the pressure relief cap.9. Check the coolant level in the reservoir
before you drive your vehicle the nextfew times (with the engine cool).
10. If necessary, add prediluted coolantto the coolant reservoir until thecoolant level is between the MIN andMAX marks on the reservoir.
Whenever coolant has been added, thecoolant level in the coolant reservoirshould be checked the next few times youdrive the vehicle. If necessary, addprediluted coolant to bring the coolantlevel to the proper level. If you have to add more than 1.0 quart (1.0liter) of coolant per month, have yourdealer check the cooling system. Yourcooling system may have a leak. Operatingan engine with a low level of coolant canresult in engine overheating and possibleengine damage.

Vehicle Care
WHEELSYour vehicle is equipped with uniquewheels matched to the tires. These wheelsare more susceptible to damage due totheir diameter, width and low profile tires. To avoid damage to your wheels:• Maintain proper tire pressure (see Tires
in this supplement).• When installing wheels, always torque
lug nuts to specification with a torquewrench.
• Inspect your wheels for damage on aregular basis. If a wheel is damaged, replace it immediately.
• In the event that you encounter anabnormally harsh impact, inspect theouter diameter of your wheels, bothinside and out, for damage.
Wheel Lug Nut TorqueSpecifications
WARNINGWhen a wheel is installed, alwaysremove any corrosion, dirt or foreignmaterials present on the mounting
surfaces of the wheel or the surface of thewheel hub, brake drum or brake disc thatcontacts the wheel. Make sure that anyfasteners that attach the rotor to the hubare secured so they do not interfere withthe mounting surfaces of the wheel.Installing wheels without correctmetal-to-metal contact at the wheelmounting surfaces can cause the wheelnuts to loosen and the wheel to come offwhile the vehicle is in motion, resulting inloss of control.
Retighten the lug nuts to the specifiedtorque at 500 mi (800 km) after anywheel disturbance (tire rotation, changinga flat tire or wheel removal).
lb-ft (Nm)*Lug nut size
150 ± 15 (200 ± 20)M14 x 1.5
*Torque specifications are for nut and bolt threads free of dirt and rust. Use only Fordrecommended replacement fasteners.
Carbon Fiber WheelsThe GT350R comes standard with carbonfiber wheels. These wheels offer significantweight savings, while maintaining thestructural integrity of aluminum or steelwheels. These wheels have beenspecifically designed for the R package, and are not recommended for use on othervehicles or Mustang variants. Due careshould be taken when mounting andbalancing new tires to avoid damage. FordPerformance recommends only using yourFord authorized dealer for service.
The front carbon fiber wheels are equippedwith a thermal barrier coating on the backof the spokes and on the inner rim barrel. The coating works best when clean.Maintain these areas with Motorcraft Tireand Wheel Cleaner and warm soapy water.

TIRES
WARNINGOnly replace the wheels and tireswith the tire combinations that Fordhas tested and approved for your
particular vehicle. Variations in factorssuch as manufacturing tolerances meanthat use of any other wheel and tirecombinations, even with identical sizeratings, may result in insufficient runningclearances, tire rubbing, and eventuallypuncture. Loss of tire pressure could leadto loss of vehicle control, serious injury ordeath.
Your vehicle is equipped with low profile, high performance tires that are designedto optimize the driving dynamics youexpect in a Ford Performance vehicle. These tires are not optimized for off-roador winter (snow or cold weather)performance, and their ride, noise and wearcharacteristics are different thannon-performance tires. Also, because oftheir lower profile, the tires are moresusceptible to damage due to potholesand rough roads.

To make sure that your tires perform asintended, it is important that you maintainyour tires properly:• Your original equipment tires are
optimized for performance in both wetand dry conditions. We do notrecommend using the originalequipment tires when temperaturesdrop to about 45°F (7°C) or below(depending on tire wear andenvironmental conditions) or in snowand ice conditions.
• The tires were designed for track useand may exhibit significantly reducedtread life and increased tire noisecompared to the standard equipmenttires under normal driving conditions.Increasing the front camber settingsbeyond the factory settings may furtheraccelerate tread wear and induce tirenoise.
• For tire pressures, see the placardlocated on the B-pillar inside the driverdoor.
• Always maintain your tire pressuresaccording to the tire informationplacard on the driver door jamb, usingan accurate gauge.
• Tire pressures are specified cold andshould be checked after the vehicle hasbeen parked for at least three hours.Do not reduce pressure of warm tires.
• Check your tire pressure often tomaintain it properly. Tire pressure candiminish over time and fluctuate withtemperature.
• Do not overload your vehicle. Maximumvehicle and axle weights are listed onthe tire information placard.
