NIKE TECH WOVEN
INTERNAL ANALYSIS Tech Fleece regulates body thermals in low temperature environments with close to the body silhouettes. There is an opportunity for Tech Woven to become the alternative seasonal piece regulating body thermals in high temperature environments with away from the body silhouettes.
INSPIRATION The work of Ross Lovegrove (left) gives fluidity, Dmitry Zakharov (center) presents visual cues of graded layers, and Cameron Beccario (right) transpires the movement of air flow and color influences.
VISUAL CUES Natural curvature in water ripples and soaked fabric. Feminine influences from the work of Catherine Richards. Depth of layers in the folds of crinkled paper.
IDEATE Focus on loose silhouette and elements for breath-ability. Adding elements of interested in detailing and draping techniques.
THE TRANSPOSE JACKET
Oversized hood for comprehensive protection from the sun and moisture
Smart layering reduces weight and thickness throughout while also providing strategic support on the hood and torso pockets
Loose cut promotes mobility and articulation
Oversized silhouette sits away from the body for increased airflow
TAILOR-MADE
MONGOLIA Learning about the culture, people, and traditions of Mongolia as the concept direction. Looking at their dress to inform silhouette design and make.
IDEATE Using a paper doll design approach to pair different combinations of looks together. Exploration in proportion, cut, fit, and detail.
CONSTRUCTION Blending traditional tailoring techniques with modern apparel construction technology. 100% wool garment with a completely hand built interior. Partnering with Bemis Sew-Free adhesives to create seamless hems and finishings.
KNITWEAR
INSPIRATION The harmony between organic shapes and directional lines influencing knit structures and techniques. Artistic influences in the work of Pierre Charpin. Finding balance in subdue and rich hues.
NOTE TAKING Looking at the Nike Air Rift, understanding the tabi toe and how this could evolve through different uppers. Addressing different knit techniques with the garment designs and how each one can be best utilized.
CLOG DEVELOPMENT Project in collaboration with Danny Chambers as an exploration in shoe making and reconstruction. Taking apart a Nike Air Rift and creating a knit upper.
SHORTS DEVELOPMENT Machine knitting exploration in techniques and texture development. Diverse color pallet to add interest to each dimension of the material.
SHIRT DEVELOPMENT Hand weaving yarn of matching color to create a textured shirt with unique one of a kind detailing.
WHITE PROJECT
DIRECTION The concept is focused on people interacting in public spaces. We live in our individual worlds without acknowledging most people passing by. We brush pass one another in the supermarket, stand touching shoulders on public transit pretending not to notice.
INSPIRATION Exactitudes is a project by photographer Ari Versluis and profiler Ellie Uyttenbroek. Documenting the striking dress codes of various social groups, and how they have systematically captured numerous identities.
PEOPLE STUDIES Sitting in Kings Cross Station watching people pass. Taking notice of how they interact and react to one another. Jotting visual notes of people that catch my eye and what I can articulate from their passing.
PROCESS WORK Central Saint Martins focuses on the importance of creative exploration and visual storytelling. Getting ideas out in a tactile manner makes time to reflect, evaluate, and refine concepts.
DRAPING Working out ideas on the form to bring the concept to life. Each piece that makes up the designed garment originates from another piece of clothing that is placed somewhere else on the body.
BYBORRE X DOMINICAN
DOMINICAN ORDER Celebrating 800 years Dominican. Intention to keep recognition of the faith through the importance of the Habit. By adapting the design, fit, materials, and functionality to make it wearable today, but to remain something seen that makes a Dominican person.
RESEARCH Above is a heat map to show the diverse climates the Dominicans habit. The Order of Preachers was official recognized in 1216 and the Habit has remained virtually unchanged since. It originated as the sole form of clothing, but today most members wear only for special occasions.

ORIGINAL HABIT The Habit was created when clothing was less developed. What they wore was common dress for a person of their time. Today when someone wears the Habit it is noted in public as folklore creating a separation from the person and the Dominican values.

UPDATED HABIT Keeping with the values of the Dominican Order this new system of garments can be worn as one or taken apart and worn as separate entities. The dress reflects the same principals of being one with the present society they interact with in daily life.
GENERAL CONTRACTING
CONCEPT EXPLORATION Looking at the Midwest and aesthetics that come from utility in things existing for function. Creating common ground for understanding between working class and creative cultures.
MATERIAL DIRECTION Collecting objects and materials as pieces serving distinctive functions. Observing materiality, textures, color, and graphic work.
MATERIAL SOURCING Working directly with Cintas, the largest uniform outfitter in the United States,to provide discarded apparel as well as Ebay, Craigslist, and charity shops. Each new garment is defined by the original pieces that make it up.
SKETCH Getting ideas on paper to explore possible silhouettes and alterations to garments. Looking at ways to expand upon standard apparel for work wear and elevating it with a new approach and perspective.
COLLAGE Collaging images collected for inspiration and design research as a way to explore the visual look and feel of the collection. Creating these brainstorms as an alternative way to realize design concepts.
NIKE: 2024 OLYMPICS
CONCEPT Our world is one seamless with tech but embedded in rich culture. Future Native is accepting unfamiliar as the new normal. If we can accept culture we can begin to understand reality by asking the right question for what may come next.
ATHLETE INSIGHTS Look good, feel good, run good. Notes from USA athletes at USATF Championship in Sacramento, California. Pictured in 100M sprinter Rebekah Smith who tells us, you don’t want to look fierce and then not run fast.
RESEARCH Chicana’s in LA are disrupting traditional understandings of California cool meanwhile youth culture in Paris are challenging what it looks like to be Parisian chic. 2024 marks 100th anniversary for the games in Paris and LA is an iconic ground for the history of success and athletic achievement.
DEVELOPMENT Using collaging as a way to visually explore research. From the history of Nike, fashion, gender, track and field to LA and Paris, the Olympics, and anything informing how these games will manifest.
