PREFACESheTrades, a flagship initiative of the International Trade Centre (ITC), provides women entrepreneurs around the world with a unique network and platform to connect to international markets. SheTrades, which aims to connect one million women entrepreneurs to market by 2020, also helps corporations to include more women entrepreneurs in their supply chains.
Within the scope of this initiative, the ITC Women and Trade Programme are supporting the presence of 11 women-led businesses (WLBs) from India, Indonesia and Kenya at CeBIT 2017. Using the latest IT technology, Aseries Informix Solution Teknologi (AIST) aims to bring business, social and environmental impacts into schools, by replacing papers used for exams and other operational activities with tablets in which a web-based application for online tests and examination is installed. These devices and apps are also aimed to help those underprivileged schools with no computer infrastructure, to conduct online exams for their students at low cost.
The app allows teachers to easily submit their typed questions and problems to the system, and automatically adjusted them to a template. The app will also allow teachers to directly evaluate results in a short amount of time, right after the student submit their answers. Aggregated results will then be stored in a centralized database, and can be provided as requested.
Using an efficient business model, where AIST rents out the devices for around 1.5 USD each per exam, AIST also provide assistance for teachers in using the devices and apps for exams.
