Starting the Winkie Pin edge with passives

1. Hang2pairsoverthetopmostpinintheopenorrainbowconfiguration.

2. Addatwisttotheleft2bobbins3. Closethepinwithwholestitch(CTCT)andtension

it.These pairs become the outside passives4. Putupapininthenextpinholetotheleft,hang

2pairsopenonthispin,addtwotwiststothelefthandpairandlaythemasideforthemoment.

5. Withtherighthandpair,clothstitch(CTC)throughthepassives.

The right hand pair now becomes the inner passive pair on the right.6. Putupapininthenextrighthandpinholeand

hangtwopairopenonthispin.Puttwotwistsintheoutsidepairandpintherighthandpairaside.

7. Usingthenewleftpair,clothstitch(CTC)throughbothpairsofrightsidepassives.

Which will make this pair the inner left passives.The two outside pairs will become your worker (weaver) pairs8. Usingyourleftworkerpair,clothstitch(CTC)

throughyourtwoleftpassivepairs.Laythemasideaswewillnowworktherighthandside.

9. Usingyourrighthandworkers,clothstitchthroughbothrighthandpassivepairs.Joinbothpairsofweaversatthispinholewithclothstitch,pin,clothstitch(CTCpCTC).

The diagram shows both sides being worked at the same time, you can, of course work them separately.

We will continue to work the right hand edge, so tension and lay the left weavers aside.

10.Clothstitchthroughtherighthandpassives,(CTC)Addtwotwiststotheworkers.

11.Usinganewpair,holdthebobbinsapartandslidethethreadundertheworkers,withanewbobbinoneithersideoftheworkers.Laythenewpairtogethertotheleftoftheworkers.

4. Closethepinbyclothstitch(CTC)thethe3longlegsthroughthe2shorterones.Add3twiststoallpairs.

5. Clothstitch(CTC)theheadside,bringinginthe2shorterspiderlegs.

6. Halfstitch,pin,halfstitch(CTpCT)theinnerpinswherethelegsjointhemainbodyofthelace.

Adding Sequins to Torchon Ground

Requirementsfinecrochethook(0.4mmorfiner)orlazysusanSequins

NotesWorkedovera3x3pinblock,sequinsareaddedwithintorchongroundbyreplacingapinwiththesequin.

Iaddanextratwistcominginandoutofthesequin,similartoaddingthe2twistswhenapplyinggimp.Ifusingcuppedsequins,havetheconvexsidefacingyouasyouwork,thatwillmeanthattheconcave,lightreflectingsidewillbefacingtherightside.Becarefulnottoentanglethefirstpairwhenworkingthesecond(step4)

1. Placethesequinontothecrochethookandpickupthebottomthreadfromtheleftpair.

2. Drawthehook(andthread)backthroughthesequintoformaloop.Threadthe2ndbobbinfromtheleftpairoverthesequinandthroughtheloop.

3. Tightentheloopandlaythepairtotheright.

4. Slidethesequinbackonthehookanddrawthebottomthreadfromtherightpair.Threadthe2ndbobbinfromtherightpairthroughtheloop.

5. Tightentheloopandlaythepairtotheleft.

6. Add2twiststobothpairsbeforeworkingtorchongroundtoclosethesequinarea.

7. Wigglebothsequinpairsuntilthesequinsitsflatwithoutexcessthread.

Ending with a Figure 8 hitch

Takeapairfromeithersideandlengthenthethreadandbringthemoverthebunchandintothecentre.Thesearegoingtobeusedtomakethefigure8hitch.
