Benchmarking and competitiveness

Applying global best practice to your existing shipyard Our benchmarking system is used to compare the existing shipyard’s processes and practices to international best practice. The system has been applied in over 150 shipyards worldwide. The system has formed the foundation of major industry-wide performance improvement projects for the European Commission, the US Department of Defense and the UK Ministry of Defence.

Applying global best practice to your new shipyard Our competitiveness studies have established the correlation between the use of best practice, output performance and profitability. To achieve the desired performance, a shipyard must be configured correctly and employ appropriate processes and practices for its product mix and cost base. We specify the processes and practices required to achieve market success through optimising the facilities, the production technology and in particular the pre-production technologies employed.

Targeted investment – direct rewards Our experts have scientific knowledge of shipyards and the industry. We help you invest or restructure to give you the competitive edge. Our dynamic, multidisciplinary team analyses global data continually to ensure we adapt to changing market conditions.
