Overview

For over 64 years, Shoe City has been one of the most reliable and trusted fashion retailers providing the latest styles in footwear & apparel for men, women and kids. With 33 store locations in the Baltimore Region (13), DC Metropolitan Area (12), Richmond (5) and the Tidewater Area (3), we pride our long term successes on customer service and community involvement.

Shoe City is an established destination point on what’s hot and what’s now in our brick and mortar stores and our online, eCommerce platform YCMC.com. The virtual platform gives us an opportunity to promote and push the most recent product releases for the entire United States to purchase once made available, respectively. Shoe City is grateful for the relationship we've shared with our customers since 1949 and we're excited about our continual growth in better serving the fashion needs of an entire family. Notable Customers: Wale, Ray Rice, Torrey Smith, Lance Gross, Santana Moss, Bridget Kelly, Idris Elba, John Wall & More…

New Store Concept

In July 2011, we opened our Owings Mills (Baltimore) location with a fresh and innovative concept. It was the 1st new construction store designed completely different from our normal Shoe City format. With an open-air design complimented with exposed brick, wooden fixtures and plush furniture, the energetic, boutique style layout will further enhance our customers shopping experience as well as our employees... making Shoe City the best place to work and shop!

New Store Concept

Shoe City has remodeled a total of 8 legacy stores to reflect the new store concept. Additionally, we are replacing store front signs and corporate branding to align with our new identity and brand moniker. The images above show our Mondawmin Mall (Baltimore) store front before and after a complete remodel in December 2013. By 2017, all Shoe City locations will be remodeled, redesigned and refreshed with the new concept.

65th Anniversary Program

For our commemorative 65th anniversary celebration, we plan to produce month long programs of in-store activities, regional promotions, social media takeovers and strategic events led by our Shoe City Marketing team. Pictured: Our Monument Street Shoe City Location in 1949 (above) and 2014.

In 2011, we launched our online store YCMC.com. Our focal point was to extend beyond our 32 regionalized locations in DC, MD and VA and offer our products to the entire US. In July 2013 we shipped 80% of our online business to states other than DC, MD and VA. Our website also allows our local consumers an opportunity to see which store locations has the specific item in their size for convenience. The main product banner is our feature landing page perfect for new releases.
