HOMEMADE SAUERKRAUT DINNER will be held

on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, in the Perry Valley

Grange Hall, 2 miles east of Millerstown at the

intersection of West Juniata Parkway and Owl Hollow

Road. This is a special benefit dinner for Bobbi Jo

Cauffman , who is facing a serious illness, and her

family. All you can eat with dessert included; serving

begins at 11 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m. or while

supply lasts. Take outs are available. Menu includes:

Roast pork loin, homemade sauerkraut, “real” mashed

potatoes, buttered green vegetable, applesauce, chow-

chow, rolls & butter, beverages and assorted cakes.

Tickets will be available at the door starting one hour in

advance of serving time. Adults - $10, Children (age 6-

JUNIATA COUNTY VETERANS COUNCIL

MEETING DATES: The Juniata County Veterans

Council will continue to hold alternate meeting places

each third Wednesday of the month in 2014. They will

meet at 7pm of each month alternating between

American Legion Post #298 January, March ,May, July

,September, November and the V F W Post #5863

February, April, June, August, October and December

2014. Each post is located on Main Street in

Mifflintown. The council is seeking veterans to help with

military funerals, parades and council events. Full

now offering a $500. “Bernie Regan” Memorial

Scholarship award to all senior Vocational/Technical

Students at the Mifflin/Juniata Career and Technology

Center. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating

senior from Juniata County who plans on pursuing post

secondary education. The senior student, male or female,

can acquire the Scholarship application from their school

guidance office. The completed application must be

returned to the Veterans’ council, P.0. Box 1,

Mifflintown, Pa.,17059 by April 1st, 2014. The recipient

must then provide to the Veterans council a overall 2.0

GPA transcript of their grades at the end of their first

year of post secondary education to receive the $500.00

organizations in Juniata County and became the 1st

Juniata County Veteran’s Affairs officer appointed by the

Juniata County commissioners and was an advocate
