ELKINS PARK CHADD SATELLITE SUPPORT GROUP CHADD CARES! Following his well received presentation on November 3rd, Elkins Park CHADD is pleased to announce a special follow up Workshop by Jeffrey Shostack Psy.D on "Practicing Empathy Skills to De-escalate Anger in Children with O.D.D". In his workshop, Dr. Shostack will present the concept of Empathy as a method of de-escalating children's anger and preventing outbursts. Empathy is both a critical component of his approach to anger de-escalation, and perhaps the most challenging part. Workshop participants will be given the opportunity to witness the method in action via role play, in which participants can play the role of their child, while Dr. Shostack will play the role of the parent. Participants will then be able to practice their parental roles, while getting feedback from both members of the participant group and Dr. Shostack. DATE: TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2015 TIME: 7:00PM - 9:00PM PLACE: EINSTEIN HOSPITAL/MOSS REHAB CONFERENCE ROOM G1 60 TOWNSHIP LINE ROAD ELKINS PARK, PA 19027 For info, contact Claire Noyes, Satellite Coordinator | [email protected] | www.chadd.net/249
