Welcome to the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie and the Irving M. & Sylvia Footlik Foundation SHOWCASE 2014 for Performers for Young Audiences. Each year we at the North Shore Center are honored to host a diverse array of educational artists and witness the networking and professional connections made with dedicated presenters and programmers seeking to bring live arts experiences to children in schools, libraries, park districts and other venues that serve young people. We commend the participating artists for sharing their talents with all of us. The ability to create innovative presenta-tions that capture the imagination and intellect of our children is a special and unique gift. We are pleased that SHOWCASE provides a platform on which these remarkable talents are able to reach their enthusiastic young audi-ences. We would also like to take a moment to thank you for your dedication to the arts. We recognize the challenges many of you face in bringing the arts to your organizations, and your attendance today is a sign of your belief in the power of creative learning. Like us, you believe that the arts are a vital and essential tool for educating young people and are committed to introducing children to this exciting and magical world. SHOWCASE 2014 would simply not be a possibility without the generous support of the Irving M. & Sylvia Footlik Foundation and the remarkable personal commitment to education by Sylvia Footlik. For over thirty years, SHOW-CASE has served as a valuable link between performing artists working in the education field and those that seek to bring the creative arts to children. SHOWCASE is named for the Footlik Foundation because of the extraordinary dedi-cation demonstrated over so many years by Sylvia and her late husband Irving. Today the North Shore Center is your center to plan, network, and imagine how your 2014-2015 arts programming and creative learning opportunities will inspire, equip and engage your school-age children preparing them for suc-cess in school, work and life. Sincerely,
Michael Pauken - General Manager North Shore Center - Skokie
