Ispace
Ispace is a way to save data on a network drive and share files between you and your professor. There is a 5gb limit for students and 30 days after you leave the university your saved files are deleted.
UTMB First Call Notification
• Registration instructions for First Call at http://www.utmb.edu/emergency_plan/FirstCall.asp
• The service is only activated in an emergency situation when there is a risk of significant harm or an urgent threat. When such a threat occurs, a brief message will be sent to those subscribed to the system, updating them or instructing them to seek additional information from other existing university information sources.

Software
• Software can be purchased at the bookstore for pcsand macs and can only be installed once.
• Microsoft Office 2010 is available but the university is currently standardized on Microsoft Office 2007.

Antivirus
• Microsoft forefront antivirus is available for students who do not have a current antivirus installed. Microsoft forefront can be downloaded by entering the following in the run command in windows XP \\utmb‐applic‐nts\LICENSED\FFCS_HomeVer
• Double click ffhomeinstall or copy all files at this location to thumb drive or CD and run ffhomeinstall later.M h Mi f U d i ll d d bl d d d• Must have Microsoft Updates installed and enabled to get updated virus definition files.
• Alternatively, Moody Medical Library Audio Visuals on the 2nd floor and Academic Resources on the 4th floor of the Moody Medical Library has pre‐burned CDs and/or staff at both locations can assist copying FFCS HomeVer to a thumb drive. To receive a pre‐burned cdplease bring a blank cd.

• If you have a computer problem and you need help. The first thing you can do is:

•• The helpdesk is located in Clear Lake in Houston and they are not on campus. They do provide support during the hours of 1pm to 5pm in the library on the 2nd floor.
