Shrinking Bigfoot Bingo Teacher Instructions Materials 16 or more Bingo boards (two per page) Bingo answer key 9 markers (beans, buttons, or beads) per Bingo board Directions 1. Copy enough Bingo boards for students to work either singly or in pairs. With more than 16 students, some students will have duplicate boards. 2. Pass out a Bingo board and Bingo markers to each student or pair. 3. Determine whether to provide students with a copy of the answer key to follow along or to test their skill at matching actions and pictures. To Use this Game as an Introduction: 1. Read aloud one of the “actions” from the Answer Key in random order. For example, read “Take a five- minute or shorter shower.” 2. Students look at their Bingo board and place a marker on the picture that is associated with the “action.” In this example, a student would mark the picture of the shower. 3. Continue to read aloud the actions until the first student successfully crosses out three boxes in a row (vertical, horizontal or diagonal). Other Bingo shapes (an “x”, “+”, “T”, “L”, or “”) can also be used. Examples: 4. The student who wins can stand up and recite the three actions associated with the images that s/he marked. To Use this Game as a Review: 1. Read aloud one of the “Tasks” from the Answer Key in random order. For example, read aloud “Drinking water.” 2. Have students share some ideas on conservation actions associated with this task while everyone looks at their Bingo board and places a Bingo marker on the corresponding picture. In this example, the students would mark the picture of the sink. 3. Continue to read aloud the actions until the first student successfully crosses out three boxes in a row (vertical, horizontal or diagonal). You can also choose other Bingo shapes (see above). 4. This student can only win if s/he can successfully recite three actions associated with the pictures marked. 5. Continue playing until a student who gets Bingo can successfully remember all the actions.
